touche. however i believe energy cannot be created nor destroyed and that includes life. life was not created by God per say but rather organized by God and i, as well as every other living thing have always existed and always will. just in different states and forms.

Re: democracy
That's a lame quote as no form of government has ever lasted and you have the United States with ~225+ years and counting.nobody wrote:http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,600102484,00.html

Here's a quote from me:
I guess you can't count our present universe because that would be like including the United States as a continuing democracy in the original quote above.Remember, no universe has ever lasted forever. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There was never a universe yet that did not commit suicide.

you totally missed the bus on this one. the quote did not say "forever" but "long". and the point of the article was that the United Sates is NOT a democracy but a Republic. or at least is supposed to function like one.

What's defined as "long"? Anything over 200 years historically is pretty damned good IMO. If you want to get technical, the US is a republic but you're being gay about it. The democratic process is in place. It makes the quote even lamer as who cares if you're not referring to an existing government?
When was the last time there was a "true" democracy? Greece circa 5 billion B.C.?

the average life span of a democracy is supposedly 200 years if you want to use that to define long i guess.
i'm not being gay about it and i'm not trying to support the opinion but merely pointing out the difference between the governments responsibility of providing our rights vs protecting our rights.
