Dodgeball

Post by Keverian FireCry »

Saw this for free, thanks to a friend who works at the theatre. It was a pretty funny movie. It's a fun slapstick comedy, with some hilarious characters, including a guy on the team who thinks he is a pirate and dresses like one(Yarrr!). I laughed plenty throughout the movie. I recommend seeing itg, but would say it's probably best to just wait for the DVD, unless you just love going out to the theatre.

Waran, post it with the spoiler tag. I missed it too. (plan on buying the DVD to add to my Stiller/Vaughn/Wilson/Farrell/Dogg library, so not a huge deal if you don't share infos!)

Okies here's the spoiler I sent Keverian
[Show]
Ben Stiller's character at the end starts talking about getting your money's worth at the end of a Hollywood movie. It's him still dressed up as 300+ pound fat man character. All of a sudden that damn Milkshake song starts up and he starts gyrating in his sofa chair dancing around, rubbing and throwing his huge man boobs around.
It was hilarious, although scary hehe

This was great.
Very amusing all the way through.

Everything Lance Armstrong said about his cancer etc. was 100% true, and I just about died laughing when he was giving Vince Vaughn's character shit about why he was quitting. That was just priceless to me.

I think he's pretty good. I think this year we'll see if he's one of the very best ever, or just one of the best ever.

He when I saw that scene, one of the first things that popped into my head was "Damn I bet Aranuil would love this scene".

Have you guys seen those commercials for the new sports series, Extreme Dodgeball on GSN(GameShowNetwork)? Wish I had that channel so I could watch. This movie is making dodgeball popular enough to be a televised sport, that is just awesome.

Hehe, people SO need to learn to stay behind and see the subtitles. A part of the movie experience is relaxing to the music and seeing the subtitles.
And lots of movies got extra stuff hidden during or under the subtitles if you can wait.

Its incredible how many people just leave. Watched Harry Potter 3 last week at Palads (one of the average danish cinemas), and out of the 500+ people, i was the ONLY one who saw the subtitles.

The camcorder pirate movie versions usually cut off the end credits to make the file smaller!

I laughed a lot during this movie. I don't generally like what I call "stupid-humor" IE: night at the roxbury , zoolander, anything with chris farley..
But this one was definately worth seeing, and the thing after the credits was hilarious

It was in the theatre, It just so happened that the group I was with snuck beers in and were drunk enough to forget to stay through credits :)

Wasn't a bad movie for what it was. I laughed through most of it. Can't ask for much more in a comedy I guess!

I watched this tonight after seeing the movie last night. I have to admit it- it looks like fun. I'd be tempted to play a couple times a week to help stay active if they offered it in my area.

The movie was funny. I tend to like Stiller's humor, and he's developing an ensemble cast in his movies (Taylor, Wilson) that work well with him.

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.

Oh come on, that's not fair. This was a decent movie, baseketball was terrible in comparison imo.

Ok, it did have some funny moments, and Stiller was good for the most part... but I just didn't really enjoy it too much. :/ I think my expectations were overblown. Maybe I will give it another chance when it comes out on DVD.

I thought Ben Stiller was the worst part of that movie...otherwise it wasn't bad. He plays a better sympathetic loser than asshole loser. Dodgeball was good for a few laughs though!
