Important TS change comming soon!

Post by Akaran_D »

We wanted to let budding crafters know about a change that is about to happen to harvesting that should please a lot of you running around low-level zones trying to raise your harvesting skills.

Level 10 base components (i.e. those found in Antonica and Commonlands) will require a skill level of 20 to harvest them rather than the current skill level of 40.

This should ease congestion in the low-level zones and make better use of the abundant resources available in Antonica and Commonlands.

This change is expected to go live in tomorrow's update.

That is the greatest news I have heard since I started tradeskilling. Thank God for miracles.

What I would rather see is either:
- More ground spawns
- Make the ground spawns client side

With all the things they fixed in this game, you can still get steamrolled trying to trap a stinkin' badger.

This change is utter BULLSHIT!! After all that time I put in harvesting in Oakmyst and Forest Ruins to get my skills up to 40, now they go and drop the skill level requirement! BULLSHIT. I CRY. BULLSHIT!!

I could accept dropping it to 35 or even 30. But 20 is just like a slap in the face. A much better solution would be to increase the harvest nodes in the noob zones.

Drop to 20! BAH

I stayed up extra late last night in order to complete that 100 Maple / 100 Iron Ore quest. The influx of Anton harvesters will make that quest even harder to complete.

hehe... it saved me 1 more day of oakmyst running...
i guess there'll be a lot more competition for the antonica spawns..
but antonica is so freakin huge and it might push us to 4 antonica instances at peak hours...
so im not cryin.

Fucking Care Bear mother fuckers.

Just got foresting up to 90 to have gathering, mining and foresting all TS ready. Made 7 Gold last night in material sales.

The game has been up for less than a month and people have to work for somethng? Jesus mother fucking Christ.

This is the type of shit that will cause me to cancel an account. Its too much of an inconvienence to mine the ocassional rock while you kill? And if you focused on grinding exp instead of mining, well fuck you, you went your path ...

They going to make it easier for me to level now that I focused on gathering? MOther Fuckers. I hope the fuskers at SOE all get slow mother fucking Stomach Cancer.

Thanks.

Quit yer whinin'. Sounds like you are affected too. This affects all nodes, not just wood/mine/roots. Some of us get to trap now too! If you are having problems with people taking your nodes, you are looking in the wrong places to begin with.

Here's a hint to you Antonicans, Go look up near and past the Ruins of Caltorsis. NO ONE GOES THERE!

Now quit yer bitchin' and get back into the kitchen!

Shit. I have spent so many hours in Oakmyst and those shithole zones and am not even close in trapping. I still haven't been able to crack 40 in foresting. 4 straight days of nothing but harvesting in noob zones while the noobs can't harvest with me doing it.....made no sense. What they need to do is make it less random and have wood nodes spawn in the <gasp> woods! Make the ores spawn on or near mountains. Roots and gardens should spawn in the wide open expanses.

Exactly fucking right, in fact, all they needed to do was add some trapping nodes to n00b island and there is no problem. Trust Sony to fix something in a completely ina-fucking-propriate way, yet again.

Hehe, I got about 6 stacks of tubers for you from there last night, Proc.

Only annoying thing about that spot are those damn aggro lvl 20 lizards. Easy enough to kill but they a pesky interruption in my foraging.

Jesus, 8gp in a day? I haven't made that in my entire lifetime :) I don't care overly though, all I need is my 10sp a day for repairs, food/drink, and range ammo, and I'm all set. Way I see it, what's the use of all that crafting if you don't even have the time to hunt with your wealth-gottn gear. I guess there is a balance to strike, and since I've never been into monotonous tradeskilling, I really have no perspective on it.

I've got friends that hook me up with jewelry and forged weapons if I need em, so not worried about having to spend market price on anything crafted. 8gp in a day at our level of progression though, that's pretty nice. How many GP or Plats you got saved now Seebs? hehe

I like the stuff that does not come easy. Lookng forward to this one.

Some questions for you armorsmiths, etc ...

Occasionally I get rare drops from mining, harvesting ..

Dandilion fibers instead of Belladonna
Silver clucter instead of Electrum
Steel cluster instead of Gold.

How much should I charge for these items and what do they make?

Thanks.

Mother of God...silver is rarer than finding nuggets of gold in my shit. They are selling for 6 gold a pop, however I would not sell them if you offered me female sex slaves.

Silver is used to make Adept 3...yes Adept. My guess is that steel will be used for Master 3 skill ups. Selling these would be insane unless you have all your skills at Adept 3 already. I would also keep any Copper or Lapis or Coral you find. Any rares are used for high end crap like this. You should server transfer immediately!

Great to know .. and I will be buying said items when I see them. Saw a silver cluster for 20 cp the other day. No, really.

Game dynamics and the market have yet to be determined. This is good information to know.

I now have 30ish gold and its burning a hole in my Brigand pants.

Dwarven work boots is the "these boots were made for walking" quest? I'm gathering there's more to it than the gather 100 iron and wood part? Ugh. Are they worth the hassle?

Silver is for Tier2 Adept3s so I reckon Steel will be for Tier3 ones.

On test atm theyve changed spell/upgrade crafting though to:
crude/shaped = Apprentice2
Normal = Apprentice3
Pristine = Apprentice4

No confirmation on whether the rares follow the same path for Adepts yet though.

Edit: In 22 levels of harvesting I've seen ZERO rares apart from 2 Severed Bone. The recipes that use Severed Bone are broken though. Yay. And Severed Bone comes fro its own special node, not as a rare from a standard node.

Last night I picked up Severed Fir and Rough Jasper. Please tell me there is a site to figure this stuff out.

Oh, and a silver cluster is selling for 37 gold on Butcherblock. I sold mine for 1 gp ... I will screw someone eventually on this.
