PS2 Question

Arghhh

I bought a used PS2, and it works great - for games.

I tried putting in a DVD, which happened to be rated "R" and apparently the previous owners put a parental lock on the PS2 - which I didn't even know existed - and I need a password(???) to watch most movies.

WTF.

Anyone have any experience with fixing this problem?

the default password is 0000.

did you try that?

To clear the password that has already been set, press SELECT then 7444 when asked for a password. You will then be prompted to set a new password. Make it something easy like 0000. Then go into Custom Setup (the icon looks like a lock with a key hole). Go down to Parental Control. It will probably ask you for a password when you try to modify these settings, so enter 0000 (or whatever password you entered) when prompted. Go down to level, and set it to Off. Then you are done. You can exit the menus and return to playing your DVD.

I could've sworn mine was 0123 when I first bought it. Can't be certain, though.

Mine has always been 0000, that way you can't forget it, and thats the first code anyoen will try if you sell it.
