good weapon quest

around level 10 in the qeynos area doe sanyone know where to start a good melee weapon quest?

They have decent quest information for each zone. Lots of decent armor and weapons for 10-15.

Go to Starcrest. There's a girl asking you to collect Young Timber Wolf Scat - suck it up and go do it. When you return, she'll ask for 3 octopus beaks. Bit harder, but doable with a small group. Once you get those, you get very powerful weapon of your choice.

There's also supposed to be a quest in Castleview (I think) called Oh, Deer Me, which has another nice reward to it.

Where are thos Octopi? Ive had that quest for some time now and have yet to locate/search for the octopus

You have a better chance of finding the octopus north of Windwalkers village area. There's a whole school of them there, and you can also catalog the Tidewater Behemoth there as well.

The octopi are in the water around the Oracle tower. A huge clump of them, around some debri I wasnt able to get close enough to to examine.

What are the level ranges on those?
The ones I fought SE of the lighthouse were yellow / orange to a lvl 13, 14 player. Didn't put up much fight, and they both freefloated and spawned by a broken ship.

There were a choice of rewards. The one I went with - and these are the stats at lvl 12 when I first posted this quest - was a flail.

Coldwind Coast forged hammer
+1 power +3 health +2 str Wield Style
Damage 11 - 33
Delay 3.0
Skill Great Hammer (2h)
Required 55
Recommended 85

It's scaled up a bit since. Let me log on and check it now.

Stats on it at 16 are:
19-57dmg
Base 12-36
Delay 3.7 seconds

Choice was either a big 2handed Flail (Hammer skill), with nice stat bonus (was tempted to pick that one first), a 2h Staff, a Slashing Whip and a Dual Wield Katar.

They all have stat bonuses.

I chose the flail even though it has that massive delay. I just wanted to see myself swing that beast of a weapon.
