Errr. May I ask what the point of this was?

You didn't mention how badly one would need to butcher their resolution and level of detail to get it to run fine with those specs.

I mean original EQ had issues running with anything under 1gb of ram.

EQ1 did? Never for me.

There really was no point, I was just fairly surprised about it. Seems to run ok with lower graphics in everywhere but the Qeynos harbor when I first tried it. Then again, even with the graphics completely sunk, QH runs like utter shit (course, it does that on my 2.8ghz 1gig ram ATI Radeaon X800SE, too).

I ran eq1 on a 256 system all day long no problem, even in raid situations

I ran EQ 1 on a UNIVAC originally, and finally upgraded to a TRS-80 when Luclin came out.

If you used the old models you could run EQ "classic" on damn near anything.

LOL great thread.

my 'good' EQ box had 512 RAM, a geforce piece of shit mx400 i think and i ran luclin models and sure it would chug a bit here and there, but it was pretty steady on raids through GoD. only when there were some bugs in some of the elemental planes with lags did i ever have to even adjust my view to reduce lag.
