Evil Genius

Post by Dregor Thule »

Ok, the game is out so I thought I'd start a new thread. This games great. It's Dungeon Keeper set in a James Bond world. You can play as one of 3 evil masterminds and create your underground lair on a remote tropical island. You have to defend it from government agents from around the world. You can also build a resort on the island to deal with tourists and as a front for your organization. Finally, there's a global map that lets you send flunkies out to loot, spy, etc on regions of the world.

The humour in the game is great, and the animations are fabulous. I recommend this if you like micromanagement-type games!

Absolutely adored dungeon keeper 1 and 2 from a fun factor perspective. Played this demo the other day and liked it, going to have to pick it up. One question though;
You can play as one of 3 evil masterminds
Any major differences between the three?

Not that I've seen so far, that I can tell at least. I'm not too far into it yet tho, so who knows.

I played it last night, it's a lot of fun. Of course, I was a big fan of the Dungeon Keeper franchise so I might be biased. It's almost exactly the same.

I do need to work on getting my traps set up properly though, the good guys keep slipping past them.

Okay, after talking with my friend about it at lunch, it appears that for some reason I have no tourists on my island. Anyone have any idea why? I even built a hotel and have one wing on it so far and there are 0 tourists on my island. I have yet to even see a tourist, other than the maid that you have to kidnap at the beginning.

Weird, no idea. They should just start showing up at random.

Did you start killing them off? When I started being careless, they just stopped showing up. The way I got them back was to be a bit more sneaky in the things I was doing (not killing them or agents in plain view).

Anyone got good tips about how to handle the world map view and do missions? ATM i only got the basic workers to send out, and they get killed off on a regular basis. Also seems like it reset ALL outgoing troops to stealing every time i go to world view, also the ones i got in hiding due to high heat ratio.

There is a difference between the three

Maximillian : reduced cash incentive costs for research (Possibly half)

Shen : less agents show up to the island

Alexis: minons have a slower loyalty drain

Another difference between the geniuses is the size of their loyalty/attention boosting radius - From highest to lowest it's Alexis, Maximillian, Shen Yu.
