Personally I don't think I've given anyone... well ok maybe this really lazy guy in Neb. who wouldn't do his job, but other than him... a reason to hate me. I definitely haven't given any muslims etc... a reason except for the fact that I'm an American and a Christian.

I do not make excuses that their hate is justified because IMO it is not. However I believe you can't change that hatred with more hate. It goes back to the whole "turn the other cheek thing." Which does NOT mean don't defend yourself when attacked or let people just walk all over you. But it definitely does mean to do everything possible to change the situation and show love rather than hate... IMHO

Hate isn't justified. But there are reasons for it, and there is history behind it. I know that is all I've been saying.

You wont change that hate by killing their family and friends. And you can't wipe out the history by capturing their leader.

Agreed. Just like Iran and other places, it's understandable based upon things our Government has done in the past... not justified NOR right, but understandable. To me all of those are different. I think where we are running into arguemnts is that for some people if you can understand something you must agree with it and that is not the case.

Just considering interpersonal relationships alone the most powerful bonds are often those where each person can empathaize with the other... but themselves in the others shoes. Dosen't mean you have to agree with the other OR taken on OR justify their beliefs... but it will help you understand why.
