They are openly flaunting their defiance of a UN resolution and are violating human rights of their populace. I find their actions repugnant and unacceptable, and think we need to start immediate action against them, economic, political and if they do not comply in 60 days, Military.
The fact that the US voted against this resolution sickens me to no end. Before one of the ignorant fucks here blame it on Bush just go ahead and STFU, the US has followed a policy of ignorance about Israel since its inception.

Not to mention they are nuts enough to use nukes if anyone actually tried to enforce UN law on them. I am all for it, its just not practical. Personally, I have always felt that Israel is a bigger threat to world stability than Iraq ever was.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

I dont know about the palestinians determination, but if i wanted to suicide bomb something a fucking wall sure as hell wouldnt stop meAdex_Xeda wrote:All the nasty things about that wall granted, it seems to have cut off the daily suicide bombers into Israel.
And because of that it would probably take a war to force them to dismantle it.

Does anyone know Kerry's position on the Wall in Israel?
As far as I am concerned there is an Iron Curtain being built, and we need to stop it.

That is because you would get so goddamn many volunteers to help you pull it off. Just let me know what wall you need me to sling you over and when to be there.Xzion wrote:I dont know about the palestinians determination, but if i wanted to suicide bomb something a fucking wall sure as hell wouldnt stop me
military invasion of israel simply isn't on the table. and won't ever be.
basically, we do need to force them openly and publically to dismantle the portions of the wall that have seized Palestinian farmlands and residential properties. those lands need to be returned.
there is no way around the fact that our unilateral support of Israel in the Palestinian / Israeli conflict is a huge source of the anti-American terrorist sentiment against us.
the biggest thing that we need is the Sharon government to lose power, and a more moderate government that is more representative of the ISraeli people needs to be in place.
A huge problem also is that the Palestinian Authority is a completely corrupt organization. Arafat's son basically engages in kidnappings of wealthy Palestinians extorting them to pay him off for their release. That is why all the money has left Gaza City, and it has totally contributed to the chaotic state there.

There is no need to invade Israel. We could bring down any Israeli government through economic sanctions alone due to their dependence on foreign (US) aid to support their economy. The same approach we took with SA would produce much more dramatic effects in Israel.
I doubt anyone (including the ICJ) would have a problem with Israel building a wall if they built it on their own land.
Do we call the insurgents in Iraq terrrorists? No, because somehow in this case we recognize that people have a right to resist occupation. If the US started kicking Iraqis out of their homes, destroying their markets and building US settlements in Iraq would you be surprised if Iraqis tried to fight back?
I claimed the same view of Palestinian insurgents here on this board before Iraq happened. If Israel doesn't want to deal with "terrorism" then stop fucking occupying Palestinian land. Stop destroying their infrastructure. Stop building settlements.
If they do pull out and the Palestinians continue firing homemade rockets over the border and blowing themselves up on buses then they will have a valid claim of defending themselves against "terrorism". Until then they are simply trying to put down an insurgency.

I agree Forthe!
I am voting against any candidate who defends the current state of US/Israeli relations. They need to be held accountbale for their actions.

Ralph Nader Calls Israel a "Puppeteer"
12:30 Jun 30, '04 / 11 Tammuz 5764
(IsraelNN.com) On Tuesday, as broadcast on the American cable network C-Span, independent presidential candidate and environmental crusader Ralph Nader said the following:
"What has been happening over the years is a predictable routine of foreign visitation from the head of the Israeli government. The Israeli puppeteer travels to Washington. The Israeli puppeteer meets with the puppet in the White House, and then moves down Pennsylvania Avenue, and meets with the puppets in Congress. And then takes back billions of taxpayer dollars. It is time for the Washington puppet show to be replaced by the Washington peace show."
