I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

You know, the best tech chick is Asia Carrera. http://hypothermia.gamershardware.com/asia/allasia.htm (not a porn site) or her website (is a porn site) of course, she was the first porn chick I am aware of that did her own HTML and had the servers in her house.

I have met more educated people percentage wise at a Fan Faire than at the average Mensa meeting, IQ does not equal intelligence, merely potential.

yet I.Q. is never what's needed to have the personal traits that companies are after in their workers.
able to work in groups
open minded
punctual
high spirited
able to adapt
confidence
motivation
to take pride in ones accomplishments
leadership potentials
group and interpersonal effectiveness
cooperativeness
skills at negotiating disagreements
i.q. helps in non of those departments.
i.q. = worn out measuring stick on desired intellect.

IQ is more than a measure of potential. IQ tests measure your logic and reasoning as well as key indicators that can show how smart you are. they generally don't test how book smart you are though; because people have different levels of education.
and yea, someone with a fairly low or average IQ can excel at a lot of jobs and people with a high IQ can flounder if they don't have the proper people skills. I'm not sure why you brought that up tho since nobody's done IQ tests for jobs or schools since probably the 1950's. I know some companies and schools do the myers-briggs test on people. that's definitely a more appropriate test for a job environment.
I don't think anyone's come up with a better solution to measure raw intelligecne than a standard IQ test though. I think they are unfairly maligned as useless and irrelevant and I don't agree with that.
