All you are saying is that the ACLU are bad for arguing that one church should get the same benefits as other churches (at least, that's all I can get from this), which seems to indicate that your issues aren't with tax exemption but with fringe religion.

The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of the rights guaranteed in the US Constitution...They essentially step into cases in which there exists a potential violation of these rights either as defense lawyer or amicus curae as the case dictates and try the case pro bono...You can read as much as you'd like about the ACLU at http://www.aclu.org ...They literally will step in to defend anyone's rights regardless of political position, popularity etc...Xorian wrote:Non US resident here....what is ACLU and what is its role?
