Best Bang for the buck video card?

Post by Canelek »

Since I am not quite ready to upgrade my P3 800, I think I can at least slightly make an improvement with the video card. Obviously, it will be easy since I am currently using a geForce4 MX400 (pos).

I want to spend $75-120 (or less) on a decent upgrade.

Which AGP video adapter will be the best bet as far as benchmarks in this range?

Thanks!

ATi9500 pro if they still sell them is a good card in that price range.

If you're willing to spend a little more than $120, newegg has ATI 9600Pro for $126

I ended up buying a PNY FX5200 128MB card for $75 w/ a $20 rebate. I can live with paying $55 for any upgrade to the loathsome Geforce4 420MX! :D

EDIT: How do I overclock it?

That card freaking rocks. All I am getting for my system here though is a hand me down 9800 XT. Oh well. Perhaps when the x800 XT comes out, I will get a hand me down x800 Pro.
