I hope this is a lesson to all your fledgling CEOs of game development studios that earn millions of dollars per month in almost free money, not to pay your artists and modellers about half the industry standard.
Akaran of Mistmoore, formerly Akaran of Veeshan I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.
To me the graphics arent all that bad. But their recent changes in game mechanics such as going ARAC are a tad stupid. Ive lost interest in this game and would hate for it to steal CoH's thunder. CoH atleast has some originality to it.
The models arent bad. Its those shitty ass armor textures. Horrible. Doesnt even look like armor. Looks like a fake tuxedo.
Pyre-Fire/Devices-Blaster
This is my rifle. There are many like it but this one is mine.
It's a bit of a problem on the modelling side, but mostly it's the textures yes. The faces are the really big problem spot. Now I've read that they have somewhat temporary textures atm, that the models won't look so shiny and plastic eventually, but still.. I'm worried. The eyes.. they're just not built right!

I disagree with that. While I'm not particularly interested in it, and that seems to be a common theme on this board, I think it'll probably sell quite a few units. Being the sequel to the most popular MMORPG ever (yeah yeah, i don't want to hear any lineage arguments) and with the Sony machine behind it, it'll do well even if it's a piece of shit. For reference, see the Matrix II and III, and Star Wars Episodes I-III.

As long as rangers till can't take a hit, I'll be happy.

There was a video of a presentation given about a year ago showing that the new engine allows for a piece of armor (or that "dress") will stretch itself to fit any of the racial models, rather than being its own independant drawing of an armor per racial model.

Nay! Lineage 2 has the best graphics hands down. The character models are awesome, proportioned, great faces, animations, everything. You need only look at one lineage screenshot to see that.
Graphics don't make a game but EQ2's look horrible.

Ahh that would explain it...stiffing the artists...they draw one dress and software stretch it to all models...far fewer drawings hence artist man-hours...

lol - I took it to mean less data to store and interpret real-time, resulting in faster renders
