Under directx9.0b, our GF5900XT cards won't enable Direct3D when we use the newest NVidia driver set. This is a problem because we're a gaming cafe; we want our drivers to be as stable and as problem free as possible. We run games ranging from Atomic Bomberman over Diablo II, Rise of Nations, Counter Strike, Everquest, DAoC, SW:Galaxies to UnrealTournament2004 and BF:Vietnam, and all of these games *have* to work or our customers leave.
I've checked dxdiag and according to that, Direct3D *is* enabled, however, the message I get when I try and test it is that it's not...disabling and re-enabling it doesn't change anything, and the test gives the same result.
Now, if I revert to the older drivers, Direct3D will work, but most DirectX9 dependant games will start having problems - BF:Vietnam, UT2004, Everquest etc.
The games that (so far, more coming every day!) fuck up under 56.64 are: DiabloII, Rise of Nations, Counterstrike and Age of Mythology.
