Anyone else playing this? I like it, it's like those lame rpg style maps you tried out in Warcraft 3 done real professional like. Imagine having your EQ toon lead an entire army in an RTS style game, while still being able to lvl up, have multiple equipment slots, do quests, and specialize in a myriad of combat arts, twelve different schools of magic, or a combination of them. That's Spellforce in a nutshell.
Check it out!

Too buggy and waaaaaaaaay too linear. I've played through most of the single player campaign (I think?) and it's far from stable. The multiplayer version lacks all the "charm" the single player version does have and just becomes a crappy War3 ripoff
A shame, it could've been a decent game.

Three patches have been released since the game went retail. I started playing this week and I haven't seen anything remotely buggy about the game, although I've only played a few missions of the campaign so far. Maybe try updating to 1.10?
As for being linear, it's no more linear than any rts I've ever played before. You can tweak the shit out of your avatar, do quests in any order (or not at all), and actually choose your own dialogue in discussions.
The only things preventing it from being any less linear are the fundamental confines of an rts game... i.e. you have to kill certain armies to progress. I dunno, when I'm playing an rts at least, the progression being linear thing is kind of expected.

I downloaded the demo and it was not very stable, although probably 1.10 would make that better (Demo is 1.05 I think).
Only question... is the voice acting any better in the retail than the demo? I know its not an american company, but damn... the ranger chick in the demo is beyond horrible. I've heard better english voice acting in fricking german pornos.
Just wondering if it takes much out of the game as a whole before I go shill out the money for it.
