My computer is dying or something...Need help!

Post by Keverian FireCry »

Ok, these last two days my computer has been acting up, and its a very big problem. Any time my computer is on, it starts up just fine, but the longer I'm on it, it gets slower and slower and eventually it feels like its almost frozen, yet you can still do stuff, it just takes like 2 mins to minimize a screen for instance. It seems like some sort of memory leak maybe? I tried a system restore to a few days ago, when everything was just fine, but the problem is still happening, so maybe it's a hardware problem?

Any help would be appreciated, as this is incredibly frusterating. My computer is a little over a year old, it's a Dell, and this is the first real problem I have had with it. I'm freakin out!! :-x

RAM is probably going dead, or your HD.

View system resources over time. That would let you know if it's a leak.

Could be a browser hijacker. I found a nasty one on my computer at work the other day. After searching for quite some time I found this that cures it:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwsc ... cwshredder

Run the CWShredder. If you have this nastiness, it will be fixed. If not, no harm done.

Scroll to the top of the webpage if you want the entire scoop on the browser hijacker.
