No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

email spam question

Post by Kriista »

i recently migrated to a 'real' email adress after many years with the samel yahoo account

ive had hte account for a week now, and have gotten 3-4 spam emails, and ive not posted/inputed the adress anywhere

i know yahoo has that spam blocker shit, but even after having it for years and using it to sign up to shit, i rarely, if ever, get spam, much less lame viagra type crap

its a bellsouth adress, is there something i should know about them selling email adresses or something like that?, or is there a 3rd party(or an option in it) for outlook express to block shit

i just find it hard to believe that id start getting spam after switching to a legit adress

thanks in advance

Yeah, I get e-mail at addresses I've never given out, not even a single time. Never put it on a web page, nothing, and I still get spam on it. I can only assume comcast sold the addy or got hacked or something.

I actually paid for a premium yahoo addy, and I use that mostly now. The spam blocker there is actually the best I've seen.

To help with your problem, I'll assume you're using a POP3 email client like Outlook or Eudora? If so, you should be able to set up some filters to get rid of some of the spam.

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.
