I would start with a Wrox book, Beginning Active Server Pages 3.0 is a pretty decent book.

This website is helpful once you know your way around and need help with the more esoteric aspects of ASP.

This isn't bad for covering some of the basics.

Personally, I wouldn't invest time or effort in learning ASP at this point and would focus on ASP.NET instead.

The equivalent book would be probably be this

The Microsoft press book isn't that bad either, but then I used them as references for the differences between ASP and ASP.NET rather than learning from scratch. I also digest way too many books to keep track of how well written they are (thank you, Mr. Employer, for my unlimited book expenses ;))

It's been a while since I did any ASP development (read: pre-.NET), but I own a bunch of books published by wrox. I found them to be very good references.

As far as sites go, I used to really like 4 guys from rolla.

thanks for the help. unfortunately, i don't have any say in the matter, has to be ASP. basically i'm anticipating having to fix bad code. what is the transition from ASP -> ASP.NET like?

also: when i buy books i don't actually read them, i just use the index, so looking for something i don't have to read.
