Was this really Necessary?
I heard on the news last night that in Mexico, during a soccer game of US vs Mexico, the Fans were chanting "Osama Bin Laden". Really pissed me off, to tell you the truth =p

Yep, and they also booed long and loud during the american national anthem. Booing the opposition's national anthem is a tradtion which ironicaly started in the good ole USA.
Don't get your panties in a bunch about it... sports fans (especially football fans) can get pretty obnoxious during games. They were just trying to throw the other team of thier game by any means possible.

Probably pissed the players off too, as they got stomped quite handily by Mexico.Really pissed me off, to tell you the truth

Hard-core sports fans in general seem to be at the bottom of the gene pool, having the brain capacity of 5 year old. Hell, I have rocks in my driveway with more thinking power than some of the hardcore Raider fans I have bumped into.
It's not even worth worrying about...the people who burn flags, boo anthems, chant Osama are so fucking stupid its a complete waste of ones time to even let it get under ones skin.

i was drunk when i wrote that, but i thought it made sense.
you should have seen the first draft, it was just some drunken anti-mexican drivel but i didnt want to be confused with Mort and the others in the Wall Building ALliance.
All i'm saying is Mexico is our bitch in the real games. We haven't lost to them in like 8 straight matches with the full international team (olympics is just under 23 ), and our U-23 defenders who arent playing in Europe suck. The ones in Europe are good, but werent going to leave their professional teams for this semi-important tourney.
Mexico can chant whatever the fuck they want. Osama, Saddam fucked my mother.
all i know is "2-0" and we sent those bitches home from Korea in 2002.
I hate the Mexican soccer team, those guys are a bunch of diving, crying, cheating, pieces of shit. They are the dirtiest fucking team i can think of.

One of the nastiest examples relates to my own team: Tottenham Hotspur. We have a very bitter rivalry with Arsenal. Both teams are based in North London and Tottenham is a strongly jewish area. As such one of the nicknames of Spurs and their fans is "Yids". Arsenal fans are known on occasion to start hissing en masse; an allusion to gas escaping.
Lovely.
Lovely.

I believe that happened a few days after 2 American pilots killed 4 Canadians when they dropped a bomb on a training exercise AFTER the pilots were told twice NOT to drop the bomb.Sylvus wrote:When did that happen?Animalor wrote:Like burning the canadian flag at hockey games a while back wasn't low?
I'm sure my fellow Canadians can correct me if I'm wrong.

Was a game in Long Island... Islanders Vs Leafs... a day or 2 after the US bombing of Canadian combat excercises in properly designated zone in Afghanistan..
They burned Canadian flags and bood the Canadian anthem.
It wasn't necessarily their actions that irritated most Canadians, it was the poor timing of thier actions.
When the series returned to Toronto, the crowd politley cheered the US Anthem. Not stooping to their level in that circumstance made me pretty proud to be Canadian.

I'm not bothering with editing my above post. This is the only thing I could find concerning the flag burning incident.
*edit* Thanks Miir!

Days after being cheered as he sang the Canadian and American anthems
before an NHL playoff game in Toronto, Robert Pomakov watched, horrified,
as unruly New York hockey fans burned his Canadian flag in the parking lot
of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Mr. Pomakov, an opera singer, saw both his Canadian and his Toronto Maple
Leaf flags torn from his car and set on fire by a crowd chanting "U.S.A!
U.S.A!" in the moments before Sunday's Game 6 between the Leafs and the New
York Islanders.
"We lost four of our soldiers and they were basically defending these
idiots," said an outraged Mr. Pomakov. "If patriotism is what drives these
people and their ignorance, then I am ashamed to have our soldiers
defending them."
Four Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanistan on April 18 when a U.S.
fighter plane mistakenly bombed them.
Mr. Pomakov, 21, is working on his masters of opera degree at the
world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, from where he
drove to Long Island for Sunday's game at the Coliseum, which is named in
honour of U.S. war veterans.
He and fellow Torontonian Patrick Magee, also 21, decked themselves in Team
Canada and Leafs jerseys and attached one regular-size Canadian flag and
one Maple Leafs flag to broomsticks on their rental car. After being
heckled as they pulled into the parking lot before the game, they could
only look on as both flags were set alight.
"I was just shocked," he said. "There's a line that needs to be drawn, and
this was so far across. You can't believe that you're watching the Canadian
flag burn.
"There wasn't much we could do. There were a lot more of them than there
were of us."
Mr. Pomakov felt the Americans' treatment of the Canadian flag was
disgraceful.
Mr. Pomakov said the flags incident has not soured him on life in the
United States. Still, he was pleased to see Toronto's Game 7 win on
Tuesday, which set up a second-round Battle of Ontario series with the
Ottawa Senators that begins tonight in Toronto.
Whatever the feelings of Torontonians toward the seat of federal
government, or of Ottawans toward the seat of national commerce, the anthem
is quite unlikely to be booed during the series.
