That and no hard drive would make the PS3 an easy decision. It sounds like Microsoft is cutting too many corners. I've heard good things about the new chip Sony is developing for the PS3.``I can't imagine that Microsoft would be so insanely stupid as to make it incompatible,'' said Jon Peddie, an analyst at Jon Peddie Research in Tiburon.
Either way, I think WoW will suck.

What else is that fucking piece of shit good for? The plethora of games constantly coming out for it?Aslanna wrote:I don't think they want to omit the harddrive because they want to cut corners. They just don't want to subsidize low-cost PCs for people.

No, that's exactly what they want to do. Cut corners to lower the price point.Aslanna wrote:I don't think they want to omit the harddrive because they want to cut corners. They just don't want to subsidize low-cost PCs for people.
The details suggest Microsoft is far more concerned about keeping the cost of its Xbox Next console low than it is with including dazzling technological features or driving its rivals out of the business, according to a variety of industry sources.
The current Xbox has an eight-gigabyte hard disk drive. That drive is useful for online games and storing game art, but many developers chose not to make use of it. As a result, Microsoft seems to have decided that saving the $50 the hard drive costs outweighs its benefits.
