You mean the last one, or did one of the new batch quit already?

Go Spirit!
The flight team for NASA's Spirit received data from the rover in a communication session that began at 13:26 Universal Time (5:26 a.m. PST) and lasted 20 minutes at a data rate of 120 bits per second.

"The spacecraft sent limited data in a proper response to a ground command, and we're planning for commanding further communication sessions later today," said Mars Exploration Rover Project Manager Pete Theisinger at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.

The blackout of communication is easily explained by the fact that the martians abducted the rover and equipped it with an anal probe for their own studies.

Actually I got an angle on some research work for NASA.

They're interested in the effects of radiation damage on semiconductors.

A guy from my department bumped into an interesting property of some chips being able to heal their damage after exposure to heat. (aka. spin the damaged satellite around and expose the broken equipment to direct sunlight to fix it.)
