Saw this trailer earlier today, looks pretty good.

Anyone know any background on the comic its based on, like character history etc. Not having much luck on it, save the lil blurb on that site.

I think Hellboy is part demon (those circles on his forehead are the stumps of horns that were cut off). He is like a ghostbuster/x-file investigator, but his scope is much wider: goblins, ghosts, demons, assorted nasties that go bump in the night.

If this is the comic I'm thinking of, it was pretty good. I don't think it had much of a run though. (I think I had the first 4 issues and that's all I remember existing at the time)

But if memory serves, mother angel, father demon/satan type story..

I liked the comic, hope the movie is as good.

Saw the trailer, definitely not the comic I was thinking of.. now it's going to drive me batty trying to remember the name of the one I was.. Demon father, human mother.. black & white cross on his face.. long hair, etc.. Gah.

Ron Perlman of Beauty and the Beast (I hated that piece of shit - it's the tv show that had Linda Hamilton) fame. He's also been in like 300 other things, but the Beast was his big break.

He was also the voice actor (intro at least) for much of the Fallout series of PC games =)

You know, I've meant to watch that whole movie, I've seen bits and pieces of it but never the whole thing at once. It seemed kind of odd, which I rather enjoy, but having never seen the whole thing I was somewhat confused.

He was also the mean traitor vampire in Blade 2(Blade jams a remote bomb into his head). Great character actor. Yeah, he's in a ton of movies, but relatively few starring roles.
