I'd never listened to these guys until last night when I ran across them on the TV, then a little more on the web. From the dweebs I've heard raving about them I'd always thought it was just yet another crappy metal band.
It's some good music, but what's all the fuss about? They aren't doing anything that hasn't been done by others, 30 years ago no less...

i used to love radiohead
from ok computer ->amnesiac
even from amnesiac i thougth they started fading out, i mean, a 40min album wiht like 3 shitty songs on it?
hail to teh thief is unlistenable, theyre pushing no new ground, hell theyre even using teh same progressions again, same production and so on
i had the chance to see them live last year, but abstained
then i saw some dvd at the record store, something like 3 commercials for tv or a silly name like that, was like 15-20min worth of stuff for like 20bucks, fuck that
but yes, ok computer, kid a, and most of amnesiac are brilliant albums

What many of people might refer to as unlistenable, others might find pretty great. I love Sonic Youth, for instance (well the majority tracks that resemble songs anyways
), but I can understand if a lot of people find them irritating
I found that the newer Radiohead stuff is "grow on you" kind of music for me.

You are either "into" or "not into" a Radiohead album.
It is as purely simple as that. I can listen to any of the albums straight thru except for Amnesiac or whatever...
and I have to disagree that this was "done 30 years ago...". Radiohead definitely has their own sound to it. When you hear one of their songs, it is unmistakably Radiohead. I never find myself going, "Oh, it could be that band from 30 years ago."

oh i love me some noise, sonic youth and beyond, i recently DLed some melt banana and merzbow, give that a listen to if you dare
i just think the songwriting is weaker, and theyre relying on OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of what theyve done before, which i suppose isnt that bad, i just expect more after okcomputer->amnesiac era
and what i mean about rewriting their songs, listen to knives out, then to scatterbrain
OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of songs have that type of thing going, the more you listen to them in particular
