I got one of these for Xmas but haven't used it yet.
Anyone have any good (and easy!) recipes they use the slow cooker / crock pot for?
Slow Cooker recipes
Here is one I like you can eat on for some time...
Stew
2 Sm. packages of Stewing Meat (enough to cover the bottom of the crock
2 Cans of Carrots
1 Can of Green Beans
1 Can of Corn
2 Cans of New Potatos (we like the diced ones)
1 Sm. Can of Lima Beans
1 Medium White Onion (chopped)
Put the meat in the very bottom of the pot. Cover with 4 pinches of Kosher Salt (about a table spoon - you can always add more later) some Cavenders Greek seasoning (enough to see it on the meat) and a little bit of Seasoning Salt and a tsp of pepper.
Then put the chopped onion and the two cans of potatos on top of the meat and add the others after that (no order).
Turn the pot on high and let run for 4-8 hours (I usually start it before going to sleep at night)
When you check it after that time add a little water if necessary and stir well.
Turn down to low and go to work...
When you come home everything will be done. It's very little work and makes enough to feed us (2 adults and a baby) for a good 3 meals.
Cooking it that long makes the meat literally just fall apart... mmmmm
Note: Instead of using caned vegatables you can use leftovers, just dump it all in
Cheers!
