Games now tend to suck
Okay installed and played through single player stuff for the following in the last few months, several even less mentionables than this also, and you know what, no matter what I beg borrow buy or pirate, most games now, just well, they suck. There has to be something that is decent, any recommendations?
-Warcraft3 Frozen Throne expansion: Still think Thrall was the best thing about WC3, but it got boring fast, haven't I played this before, and before that and before that and before that
-C&C Generals, and Zero Hour: So so, lousy AI, same same, I played this game in 1996, and it hasn't changed, other than the fact that I get to be a terrorist and mass kill my fellow humans, which is sad all in and of itself
-Lords of Everquest: my god this is the SUCK
-Civ3 World thingee: Booooring
-Empires Dawn of a New Age: I got my hands on a review copy of this, and I started playing it, when I woke up it had been released and still sucked
Jedi Knight Academy Yawwn haven't I played this game before oh yeah last year with a diff title, other than the throwing the light saber still being sweet, snooze.
Star Wars- Knights of the Old Republic: Okay this one held me for a few days, until I had tried the good/evil choices but still...lacking

Hmm well it all depends on the type of games you like. For me I love rpgs, sports and some strategy games.
If you like rpgs and weren't satified with KoTOR then I can't really recommend any that would be better. If you like sports then I would recommend Madden 2004 or NHL 2004. If your into strategy games with some history involved then I would recommend Europa Universalis II or Victoria: An Empire Under the Sun. Now I do warn you that the strategy games I mention aren't for everyone they can be very long and tedious if your not that into history.

If you get either of the games go to http://www.europa-universalis.com, they have some mods that make the games better. A lot of people put time into adding new events for the game.

I loved Knights of the Old Republic, so much so that I beat it both good and evil. There aren't many games out there that can captivate you for 35-40 hours and leave you wanting to play it again.

Game 1
Well, If you like racing games I have been enjoying Need for Speed Underground. Near the end it gets annoying because if you hit a pebble the wrong way the other computer racers zoom by you like nothing.
What I enjoy about Need for Speed Underground is the ability to modify your car in what seems like endless choices. You also get to racecars that are common. It's nice to drive a Porsche at 300mphs and hugging curves and all but... The game gets repetitive if you play it non-stop. But then again which racing game doesn’t? They have several race types to try and keep the monotony to a minimum. In underground mode you can drag, sprint, time trial, knockout, drift and tournament. If you purchase a legal copy you can race online. I am uncertain if online play is great but at least the option is there.
Game 2
If you like The Simpsons then I suggest getting The Simpsons Hit and Run. It’s FULL of references to the actual T.V show. Very well done. The actual people of the show do the voices. They have a variety of the cast that appear throughout the game. The game is ala Grand Theft Auto
Game 3
I played a bit of Call of Duty. It’s pretty neat. Nice graphics. It’s kind of linear but worth taking a look.
Game 4 on…
Depending if you are into the old games. Get yourself some emulators and play older games. Try beating the ones you could not beat before with the save option available at any time with many emulators. That’s how I finally beat fucking Battletoads. There is NO way I could have beat that game without cheats (saving as I go). It was crazy hard at the end.
That’s all I have for now.

I have been reading the Song of Fire and Ice series lately and that got me in the mood to dig out an old game called Stronghold. I hadn't played it in a while due to some big fuckups they company made but they fixed them with a patch and I guess they have an expansion out now too. Basically it is a build a castle and defend it against bad guys. It is linear which normally I hate but I am going to try and finish it.
Yea Victoria can turn into a lot of work, but it's really a fun game. If you have any questions go to the forums, that's really the best part of any game made by Paradox, they make it very easy for the people to mod them. So a lot of people add new events that the developers didn't know about or didn't have time to research.
