Firefly: The DVD Set

Post by Animale »

Got the DVD for Christmas, 4 disc set that has all the episodes, + the three that didn't air. Haven't got through it all the way yet, but it reminded me how much I liked that show, bummer it was canceled. The shows on the DVD are in a slightly different order than aired, probably makes a tad more sense the way they are on the DVD.

Anyway, wondering if anybody else has it, and if anybody knows if there is a plan to do more Firefly, as in another network picked up the series or if they are doing a movie of it. On IMDB it lists Firefly (2004) in production... makes me wonder, sure hope so.

Didn't someone say that Sci-Fi was trying to pick it up? I can't really remember if anybody was.

It would be hard to re-start production of the show because some of the actors have already signed contracts with other networks. Nathan Fillion(Capt. Reynolds) has a talent holding contract with NBC and they have already filmed a sitcom pilot that wasn't picked up.

Fox, in a pretty classy move, has already sold the rights to the show to Universal and will not try to block production of a Firefly movie.

Joss and others at Mutant Enemy are hard at work writing the script for the movie and shouldn't have any problems writing something badass.

Almost a month after the DVD's release and it's still sitting at #11 on Amazon.com's top selling DVD list.
