Just beat it with Leon, working on the "second quest."
While it holds well to the Castlevania series, I thought this game was somewhat weak for the storyline and gameplay. The camera angle is always in a 3rd person fly-on-the-wall perspective, which means that getting the right angle to see what's going on while fighting is a pain in the ass. However, the gameplay is fun, the cinematics are good (not great), the challenge is pretty good for a Castlevania game and the music is solid.
I'd recommend this game for anyone who wants to get a good 20 or so hours out of a game and then replay it in about 6 or 8 months or so. But for any Symphony of the Night purists, you probably won't enjoy this game as much.
Total play time with 100% clear ~16 hours, no walkthrough. With a walkthrough or spoiler guide, I'd guess it could be done in about 8.
Probably not worth it for $50, but if it drops to 29.99 or even goes to a Greatest Hits title, I'd recommend picking it up.

I've always been a big fan of the Castlevania series, but I was a little disappointed in LOI. The game is far too short, I manged to beat it with 100% completion in just over 10 hours, no guides used. Only a few of the bosses were tough, and you didn't really get a feeling of advancement like you did with most of the other Castlevania games. Well worth a rental, but not worth buying.
for games like that i always find it better (and cheaper) to rent, if you have 20 hours invest over say 10 days (2 rentals) you beat the game for some 12$ opposed to buying them and never playing them again
hell i was out of town (in fucking boca) and bored as hell for 5 days or so when KOTOR was in the video store
pissed the GF off but i took that out in 5 days NP
