RTS

Post by Cotto »

Need a bit of advice with my next purchase, or lack thereof.

Big RTS fan, only Warcraft so far though, been playing it for a good lot of years now. I mainly go for the Medieval stuff.

Anyone suggest another game that I could get? would like it if there was a bit of Siege (not just tanks, but ladders etc). Might be tempted by Sci-fi RTS, but not sure yet.

Any ideas?

Has no sieges, but Command & Conquer Generals is one of the best RTS games there is, the expansion pack ZERO HOUR is also highly recommended. I play this and Frozen Throne all the time, they are both must haves for RTS fans.

Age of Mythologies : Titans

Both Human Military Units and Mythological Units!

Greeks have Cyclops, Minotaurs, Hydras, Medusas etc.

Egypts have Anubites, Sphynxes etc

Norse have Trolls, Valkyries and so on...Nidhogg!

Very different strategies for the different civs.

There is a game called Stronghold that was supposed to be a cross between simulation and rts that dealt with building and defending your own castle. I bought it and it was bug ridden right after release but it has been a while so maybe it got better. They have an expansion out but that isn't saying that the original game was fixed (example: EQ).

Could always play Lords of Everquest. I hear from sekrit sources that if you buy LoE you get 30 days of EQ free and (AND!!!) invitation to EQ2 beta!

Generals/Generals: Zero Hour.

My friend got me into this game a few months ago. Yesterday we played a 2v6 AI hard difficulty map and got in around 5 hours of play time before we even knew what happened. Extremely fun.
