I grew up with Dan Reeves in Denver and he did a lot of good things. His problem is that he is too strict with the whiners nowadays and his players have never really liked him. His game strategies are all getting a bit old as well and everyone knows how to beat him in most cases.
I would guess he will become a very highly paid consultant somewhere.

his coaching sucked and was unimaginative.
the falcons led at halftime this year 4 times. They were 0-4 in those games. In almost every game this year the Falcons were completely unable to make any adjustments at halftime, or position themselves to defend the adjustments the opponent would make. That is the job of the head coach, and it wasnt getting done.
They won last week because of 1 thing. Michael Vick was back. The playcalling still sucked, but Mike Vick is so fucking inhuman that he can turn 10 plays that would have resulted in -50 yards had any other person in the history of humanity been at QB into +150 yards.
other teams are able to get mediocre wide recievers open. The falcons cannot because the playbook is antiquated. I wastched the Rams v. Falcons monday night game earlier this year and it was like a pro team playing a college team. The Falcons had no defense for the Rams, and the Rams offense looked nothing like the Falcons offense. Sure personnel available is part of the equation, but in my view the key is one is playing a modern brand of football, while the other is not.
Dan Reeves is a hall of famer, and i think universally respected by his peers, but it is simply time for him to go.

While Dan wasn't exactly the new guard of NFL coaches, he didn't deserve this. Giving him a stiff like Doug Johnson as QB and expecting his dumb ass to win games is bullshit.
p.s. Shanter, those names are indeed great. Now wake up, because none of them are going anywhere near Atlanta.
