Spiked Holiday Eggnog

5 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup white rum
1/4 cup brandy
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 cup half & half
1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
fresh nutmeg

Separate eggs, placing yolks in one large bowl and whites in another. Add sugar to egg yolks and whisk until sugar is totally dissolved and mixture is frothy and thick. Add rum, brandy, vanilla and half & half. Whisk until thoroughly mixed. Chill if desired.

Beat egg whites with mixer until fairly stiff, but not hard. Beat heavy cream until thickened and almost stiff...but still runny. Fold beaten whites into yolk mixture, then gently mix in the whipped cream. Add freshly grated nutmeg to taste.

Serve with brandy and rum so people can add more liquor if desired.
