We've been talking about brownies in guild lately....and I wanted to share my recipe. These are so fudgy and delicious...I guarantee you will love them!
Amaretto-Walnut Brownies
1 Cup coarsely chopped walnuts, toasted
1/2 Cup of Amaretto (almond liqueur)
1 Cup butter
8 (1-ounce) unsweetened chocolate squares (baker's chocolate)
5 large eggs
3 1/3 Cups of sugar
1/4 Cup of Swiss Mocha instant coffee mix
1 Tablespoon of real vanilla extract
1 2/3 Cups of all purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon of salt
SOAK chopped walnuts in Amaretto 4 to 6 hours. Drain, discarding Amaretto
MELT butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan over low heat
BEAT egss, sugar and Swiss Mocha at medium-high speed with an electric mixer for 8 minutes. Gradually add chocolate mixture, beating at low speed until blended. Gradually add vanilla, flour and salt, beating until blended. Stir in chopped walnuts. Pour into lightly greased aluminum foil lined 13 x 9 inch pan.
BAKE at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into squares.
Prep time 15 minutes. Bake time 35 minutes.
