Been playing it. The first included module is only OK, but the one from the expansion is pretty good. Plus there are shitloads of user made mods and conversions of old pen and paper D&D mocules.

The combat and magic systems are OK, and the modified 3rd Edition rules aren't a lot different from what I remember from back in the 80's.

Been playing it multiplayer with Homer and a friend of ours. Using Ventrilo makes things easier and I do think it was a well designed game.

Hordes of The Underdark is going to update OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of graphics, new robes, a cycling sky, new monsters, new prestige classes, etc. Pretty excited for this. I enjoyed NWN and the last expansion Shadows of Undrentide. This one is supposed to pwn both of the last NWN mods.

Bleh, crashes halfway through the tutorial on my XP box.

Runs fine on my Win2k system.

Any ideas? I've got a 9600 Pro in the one that crashes, and a geoforce 2Ti in the system that works. Both have current DX and video drivers. Nothing on the support site was of any use.

Enable fastwrites. This bug has been in NWN since the 1.7(?) NWN Patch(right after SoU cmae out). No one seems to want to fix it.

That got me out of the first room in the tutorial, then I get "Hardware failure, please reboot" The debug when I came back up said it was a screen write failure.

Radeon 9600 Pro, XP2500+ barton, 1Gb RAM.

I've read about it a little more, seems to be a common problem on XP with no fix available.

Weird. I've run NWN on two different XP boxes with no issues. Have you updated the game?

And thats the problem Fastwrites is unstable on most systems. The problem is definatly ATI's fault and they have a fix in the work. Problem only affects 9600s.

Another method to fix the issue is to disable hardware mouse by editing the NWN ini file. But it runs like total shit after you do so not really much of a fix.
