Birthday gift question for NHL fans

Post by laneela »

Ok, so my boyfriend's birthday is coming up, he's a huge LA Kings fan and I want to do something cool for him - this is what I've thought up and I want to know if you guys think it's a good idea or if it's a little cheesy:

The Kings have a game that night and I bought great seats for the game (we have half season tix already but they're nowhere near as nice). I also got him a ride on the zamboni and a 'happy birthday' message on the scoreboard. As a gift, I'm thinking of getting him a Luc Robitaille autographed jersey (plus a couple of other smaller things including the NWN expansion).

Feel free to criticize or to give suggestions...

Man, I wish my wife was that thoughtful

Nothing wrong at all with that gift, except, maybe give him the jersey with you in it. My wife in nothing but a hockey jersey has always been a turn on.

The jersey with you in it would absolutely OWN :)

You'd make any NHL fans birthday special with everything you posted.

Now to just get my girlfriend to do that hehe

Yup, definitely save the jersey until after the game. Then walk into the bedroom with just that on.

sounds like an awesome gift!!! The one caution I will give you, is that I am not sure how common Luc Robitaille autographed jersey's are, so that could be harder/more expensive unless you have connections.

The jersey with you in it, after you guys get home from the game sounds awesome :D

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'd been worried since a friend who shall remain nameless *cough*Sylvus*cough* said my idea sucked (the faggot). I feel much better now...

P.S.
Yeah yeah, Xou. I wouldn't be a Yankee's fan if I lived in NY either. =P

You're such a fucking liar. I said that I wasn't into autographs. I said that the zamboni ride and name on the scoreboard and a party at Chuck E. Cheese were all awesome, and that the autograph thing would probably be cool too, just not my style.

Which I took to mean "That is the worst idea I've ever heard of." See? I needed positive reinforcement all the way. None of that "not my style" non-committal bullshit. =P
