The Diablo II 1.10 Patch Has Arrived!
Yes, you're reading correctly, the day has finally come for the Diablo II 1.10 patch! This patch is our largest to date in terms of game changes and offers many new things for Diablo II players, including seasonal ladder characters, more-challenging gameplay, enhanced skills, new items, new anti-cheat measures, a new game-world event, and much much more! This would not have been possible without the support of a great gaming community and the dedication and hard work of some very talented people. We would like to thank you for helping us beta test the 1.10 patch and for your patience while this patch was completed. Big thanks also to the “Hell Day Testers,” fan sites, and forums for all the great feedback. We hope you enjoy this special upgrade to Diablo II.
Simply connect to Battle.net to download the patch. We will post the standalone version on our FTP site as soon as it's available.
Players of Hardcore characters in Hell difficulty games should note that a new, extremely challenging world-event has been added in Diablo II version 1.10. If you value your Hardcore character's life, be even more cautious when encountering Superunique monsters, and be prepared to execute a hasty Save and Exit if your situation seems too dangerous.
For more information about the patch, go here. To read more about the new content in Diablo II 1.10, visit the Arreat Summit. Also, we created a new wallpaper to commemorate the long-awaited launch of Diablo II 1.10; it’s available for download now.
We'll see you on Battle.net! Make sure to watch the forums and Battle.net channels for news about the new secret world event!

Level 12 Werewolf - US West. Going to work on levelling up. If anyone needs anything specific, let me know. Hopefully this should help me pass the time while I wait for FFXI.
Out of curiosity, what's the deal with the:
"20 Stones of Jordan have been sold to vendors." messages that kept appearing on my screen. I never really played Battle.net much in the past so I'm not sure if this is a normal occurrence or something new with 1.10.
Thanks.

Here you go Ara, and he sounds pretty tough. I'm still not totally sure what I want to play. Might start a pally like I usually do.

I've been thinking about checking Diablo2 out again on a limited play basis with some friends. Problem is I really dont know what works still in this game, I stopped playing it back before LoD even came out so last char I had was a whirlwind barb and a multi-shot amazon...
If anyone has any suggestions on what combo's are still viable I'd like to hear them~

I played the beta patch quite a bit and the necros are pretty powerful with their cold synergys. All of the synergy stuff is really cool. Assassins were nerfed pretty hard in hell difficulties so build one only if you have a good group. Hell is pretty hard to solo in now with any character type. I could do a few areas with a 99 necro (yea it was a cheat character) but the bosses were a bitch.

From what I've seen, the event isn't anything all that cool. Looks like it's less a reward and more a scam to get some of the billions of sploited SOJs off the market.kyoukan wrote:Nice to see Blizzard reward all the dupers and cheaters with a world event that legit players can't access because we don't have 2000 SOJ's spread out over fifty mule accounts. wtg blizzard! I hope they reward cheaters and hackers in WoW too!

Hmm, that charm that the alternate diablo drops is pretty much the best item in the game. If it wasn't such a great item people wouldn't be doing it so often.
I know it is a method of getting rid of all the duped and hacked SOJ's but IMO it is still rewarding all the fuckers that have massive amounts of SOJ's stockpiled. The only way you'd ever get more than a few legitimately is by duping them or trading items to a duper. I had a dozen or so of them I got from trading items I found and had like a dozen or so more that I traded off for items I needed. I only ever found one legitimately and only ever found a second one through about 200-300 hours of botting pindleskin.
It just seems to be to be an incredibly stupid mentality. Dupers shouldn't be rewarded with one of the best items in the game just to cover up their stupid mistakes and their inability to stop duping hacks for over a year after they were discovered. A legitmate player will basically never see one of these charms unless one of their SOJ duping friends gives them one.
