Freedom Fighters??

Post by noel »

Freedom Fighters
Publisher: EA Games Developer: Io Interactive Genre: Action

Has anyone heard anything about, or played this game?

Apparently it's a squad based 3rd-person-shooter (ala Max Payne), and Gamespot is giving it a 9.3, and an editors choice or some bullshit.

Anyone playing it?

Its a lot like Hitman 2 only its all action and you command a squad. The demo's been out for a couple months now.

Yeah the demo was pretty fun. You can't go wrong with shooting commies.

Gameplay gets dull, fast. There are control issues as well - it's definately not IO's best product to date.

You're huffing paint! Ive been playing the final and I'm having a blast. No its not their best game but its pretty damn fun. I haven't had any problems with the control either. The urban style combat is fun and the AI is just smart enough to make it tactical. The graphics on PC are really good (it basically looks almost exactly like Hitman 2) and the battles look quasi-realistic. Ducking behind doorways and popping out to put a bullet in some commie's skull is fantastic.

Like IO's other games, it has a lot of charisma. More than just about any other games around. The models animate organically and the ragdolls physics for the gunshot victims aren't as pronounced as Hitman but they're still pretty fun to watch. Squad AI is pretty clever too.

I'd give it an 8/10 easily.

I just think it was repetitive. After 3 hours of playing I felt like I'd pretty much seen all the game had to offer ><. The control issues weren't as big as I thought, it was just the very limited set of AI commands you can issue that I felt were annoying.
