Saw the E3 Trailer and was really impressed with the video trailer... After watching the new gameplay trailer, all I have to say is RTS Turok... Thanks, but I've had plenty of that for my lifetime.

I got my mitts on a copy of the beta... thus far it's an interesting concept but lacking gameplay wise. It seems to be much more of a FPS Tribes-esque type game than an RTS. Basically, the only area RTS even comes into play is making buildings that upgrade your weapons/armor/class. You can't produce any soldiers though, so the game consists of creating a few AI controlled workers to collect resources, build base/upgrade, and then the rest of the game is you running around trying to blow the other persons base up with a really shitty combat system (I'm talking running over and holding down the shoot button while targeting a building). I'm sure they'll polish it up a bit before it goes retail but nothing short of a total combat system revamp is going to get me to buy this game.

I played beta as well. It is a great concept, which is done correctly would make for a great game. However, they haven't done that. Of course this is beta, and I played it back in July, so I am sure they have done more with it. But as emmer said, the combat sucks. The graphics are cool though, and the dying system is good to imo.

There are two ways to play. One person is the commander, and the rest are the infantry. The commander plays the rts part in the game. He builds up the town, makes workers and can also make gaurd towers. One of the cool things they can do is set rally points and form strategies with the infantry. This even includes calling in seige (catapults, balistas, etc.).

The one thing that was most confusing were the weapons. The weapon tree was cool, meaning you could pick which path of weaponry to upgrade. They include magnetic, electric or nano, and fire I think it was. But you start out with a fucking bow and arrow (using your axe is more useful) and can work your way up to a rocket launcher.

My score would be 6/10.
