Cowboy Bebop - Ballad Of Fallen Angels

Post by Searyx »

I found it to be an unusual coincidence that the day I have planned a clip called the Ballad Of Fallen Angels is the same day I found out that a member of Solusek Ro that I called a friend committed suicide.

Oh well. Stranger things have happened.

Excellent voice acting, coupled with above-par animation, a great story, heart-pumping action, and beautiful music. There isn't much that Cowboy Bebop doesn't offer. Don't let the name fool you.

As requested:

Right Click Here and select "Save Target As..." to download Cowboy Bebop - Ballad Of Fallen Angels (Church Shootout).divx

Statistics:
6min, 19sec long | 15mb in size | Encoded with DivxPro 5.02 at 216kb per sec, 2-pass | Audio Encoded with MPEG-3 Layer at 48khz, 96kbits, Stereo | Dimensions are 352x240 (1.46:1 Standard) | In Japanese with English subtitles |

If you're only getting the audio, then Run This Patch.

You are the man, Searyx. I still don't have the DVD's of this show yet, so now at least I have this clip on my computer til I can afford those expensive ass discs. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this scene is the best anime moment from the best anime series ever. It brings a tear to my eye every time I watch it. This is largely due to the brilliant score by Yoko Kanno (Rain and Green Bird are featured in this clip) which I believe is as good as or superior to most oscar winning film scores. You guys can call me crazy, but it really is that good of a show.

I'm gonna have to rewatch the whole series. I had forgotten how good it was until someone brought up this scene.

Yeah I was the one who brought the scene up hehe. That show is just so damn good I felt that everyone here needed to see it, and ballad of fallen angels is just so damn great, it really sets the tone for the rest of the series. It has some of the greatest music (green bird is such a spooky song yet it fits perfectly with the scene of Spike falling from the church), one of the best action scenes outside of the real folk blues, and it explores in more depth the past that Spike has with Vicious and the red dragons. God the more I think about it the more I love that show!

For anyone who has seen all of cowboy bebop, check out this AMV made by more than toast productions. It is set to "Yesterday" by the Beatles and it has to be one of the best AMV's I've seen. If you haven't watched the whole show, be warned that this clip contains MAJOR SPOILERS, but if you don't care about spoilers, watch it anyway because it is damn nice editing and a very good song.

Man, Cowboy Bebop is great stuff. Just finished watching the whole series for my 4th time. It's just great to lay in my bed, throw it into the PS2 (dvdplayer), and just watch 3 - 4 episodes a night.

Yeah man its definitely worth every minute of the 11 hours it takes to watch the whole show, except for maybe toys in the attic or jammin with edward hehe. One of the things I love about the show is its versatility. Real folk blues makes you cry, mushroom samba makes you laugh, pierrot le fou dazzles you with its amazing animation quality and cool action sequences, and ballad of fallen angels shows amazing musical versatility from ave maria to slipper sleaze. Its just such an amazing work of art.

Although I dont think Bebop was the best anime i have ever seen, it ranks pretty high up there. The best Yoko Kanno stuff I would say is Lodoss Wars TV....or *ANYTHING* that Maaya Sakamoto sings from her stuff.

While I agree that Kanno's soundtracks to other animes like CotHK and Macross Plus are good, I still think that nothing even comes close to the music of Cowboy Bebop. For one thing the soundtrack is mostly jazz and I'm a sax player and I'm a very big fan of jazz music. Plus, CB is the only show that really emphasizes music. Most animes are content with just generic jpop and music that sounds like its from a Final Fantasy game, but CB actually uses music in a very deliberate fashion. Every song fits perfectly with its scene and there is a diverse range musical styles used to convey the many emotions of the show.

Dude I'm not gonna lie the beginning of the opening song is pretty smooth. 3 2 1 lets jam! Lately I have been watching an anime called Gensomaden Saiyuki and another is Inu Yasha. These are 2 really great series if you ever see them released in america.
