The Italian Job

Post by noel »

The Italian Job kicked ass.

The music was excellent, the pacing was great, the stunts were great. Mark Walberg might have played a leading man well for the first time in his life, Edward Norton was his typically fantastic self. I really think he's one of the greatest actors of our time. Finally, the combination of Seth Green and Jason Statham playing off of each other was hilarious.

Overall, a fun, fun movie. I give it 4.5 out of 5 pies! :P
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Was this related in any way to the PC game of the same title?

Remake of the old movie with a modern twist. The video game was based off that old movie under the same name :)

Cool!

I recognized the title from a past film when I first saw the game on the shelves, and had thought about picking it up fairly recently since it's been priced really low. Will have to see the movie now too :)

While I like Edward Norton, I thought this was one of his worst roles ever. His character wasn't well developed in the movie so it wasn't really his fault but it still wasn't his best and possibly the worst performance I've seen from him.

Overall the movie was entertaining. A good summer type action movie.

I read somewhere, (Poopshoot possibly), that Norton wanted out of this movie, but was contractually obligated to do it, thus resulting in a hollow disaffected performance from him.

They should of gotten someone other than Norton. He was obviously bored with that role. Other than that the movie was mildly entertaining. The ending was just thrown together.

And did anyone else keep thinking they were watching a Mini commercial?

Echo that, Tanc - if you think this was good, watch the original. It blows the new one (which technically isn't a remake, just the same title and a few borrowed items) completely out of the water.

Well, just saw the original then made the huge mistake of seeing the remake. Michael Caine in lead role... says it all IMO.

My thoughts exactly!! I loved the original, and the whole escape scene with the classic mini's was just priceless, ans well as REALISTIC. The new one was just a joke.
