Aran you're not missing anything.. Apparently it was a quick and silent bombing. About a dozen cruise missles were dropped and weren't even shown on TV. Now every TV station is just saying the same bullshit you can hear on the radio.

They're saying they volleyed some cruise missiles because they felt they had a potential target of opportunity.

On CNN, immediately following the Bush speech, it showed video of missles bombing the fuck out of a bunker of which they believed Saddam was hiding.

my feelings aside on the war or Bush, Zamtuk, If i were in command and i had a potential target of oppurtunity like that(it is after the deadline Bush gave, nothing sneaky about attacking when he said he would, their was fair warning, it was up to Saddam after that)

... i would jump on it to make my objective, it sounds like it was something they were tracking, but needed to perform an audible(sp?) because they saw an opening. Is prolly why Bush was on as it was happening or even after and the tapes they showed were delayed, voro could prolly answer better on that since he is Wolf's best friend hehe jk.

btw i am no fan of war, but the technology aspect of it is pretty breathtaking without glorifying war. i mean just the logistics and etc

Yup, about 9:45 ish CST broadcasting was interupted to bring us footage of the first hostile act. They state that the stealth fighters and cruise missles went in after Leadership Targets of Opportunity. 30 minutes later the President told us all about it followed by 8 hours of Dan Rather's Nam biography.

Well yah it'd matter since noone would just hide in their home, but they would build bunkers UNDER their homes. Which is what happened in this case, many of the command and control bunkers are located under homes and government offices.

Saddam isn't hiding out in a residence whilst cruise missles are running rampent. You bet your ass he was in a bunker, and probably will never come out until this thing is over.
