Battle on the border?

Some folks on some fringe forums have been reporting that there is currently an armed conflict taking place in Arizona on the border right now between some of the mexican drug cartels and one of the Arizona militia groups. Have been able to find a few things on mostly tinfoil hat type boards but nothing mainstream yet. Anyone out that way seeing any reports bearing truth to this or just some crazy BS?

I have been able to use the google-fu to find tons of references to it, but none have been what I would consider reliable news. Personally I get the BS feeling from it. Maybe there was some type of shots exchanged between some random dopers or immigrant smugglers with a militia, but I have doubts that a cartel would come across the border in any kind of force and make noise that could get real military drawn down to address.

I haven't heard anything in the news or on the police scanners since a pinal county sheriff's officer got in a gunfight with some drug runners south of maricopa.

Dude, you know if there was some shit going down, those yahoos who have a thousand videos on youtube with creative titles like "MEXICANS SENT HOME BY SMITH AND WESSON."

The only things wackjobs like more than guns are videos of themselves shooting guns. It's how they keep getting in trouble with the gubmint.

That was the headline I expected on Fox. You know if anything remotely like this was going on it'd make headlines there.
