I know Janx is probably too busy playing it to see this but for anyone else out there, the set list is really really good. I'm only at stage three (on hard so I can see the songs and venues but not get crushed or bored doing so) and there isn't a single clunker so far. STP, Police, Wolfmother, VH, Kansas, etc. jesus i wan't to call out sick tomorrow

Already beat it on hard (wanted to unlock songs for multiplayer). Playing gears of war atm so will start expert tomorrow at work ^^.
What was crazy, 2 of the songs (Madhouse and , one other in an earlier set) came on the web radio station my co worker listens to. Kinda spooky since how likely are you to hear Madhouse, let alone at the EXACT time I'm playing it.

I thought the song list was a little too 90s grunge heavy, but there were some nice suprises for us old farts. All of the Encore songs are awesome choices. Two player coop kicks all known ass, btw. The audio seems a bit off balance for some reason, probably to accomodate the bass rythym tracks or something (some of the cover artist renditions are sucky), but the higher video quality and resolutions make up for that. My only real complaints are that there is no more high score board in quick play and the game seems a lot pickier about being accurate on the rhythms than before (which probably has to do with it being less brutal about hammer downs and pickups). The whole shaking the screen when you miss a note thing is something I could have lived without too.
Anyhow, great game. The wife and I played it til midnight last night and its going to be a race to see who gets home to play first.

War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

The first image in my head of you playing Guitar Hero II was you swinging around the guitar and accidentally wiping out an entire miniature orc army sitting on a shelf nearby!Jice Virago wrote: Anyhow, great game. I played one song on GH2 last night but am way too backlogged with other games to get into it yet. I didn't like the shaking screen either and thought the tune was out of sync a little. (Motley Crew's Shout at the Devil)
I'm Looking forward to playing Freebird and YYZ though!

Entirely possible, as our modelling table is set up in front of our big screen, but it would be Eldar, not orks.....
Anyhow, since you feel like engaging in some turd flinging, let me indulge you by saying that between FF12, GH2, Dirge of Cerb, and Disgaea 2, the 360 has not been so much as powered up since I beat Enchanted Arms a month or so ago. To be fair, a year from now when I feel like taking a break from the Wii and PS3, I probably will get around to finishing Oblivion. Also, we will likely get GH2 for the 360 if MS reverses their stupid stance about not allowing octane to make wireless controllers for it. I am not shelling out for another controller that is not wireless, to be certain.
ps my 360 id is phazael if you want to scope what I have been playing. The wife is playing the zombie game, at least, but I am pretty sure that will be on hold until she is sick of GH2.

Well, it sounds like you like RPGs mostly like me so Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey should be entertaining along those lines for the 360.Jice Virago wrote: Anyhow, since you feel like engaging in some turd flinging, let me indulge you by saying that between FF12, GH2, Dirge of Cerb, and Disgaea 2, the 360 has not been so much as powered up since I beat Enchanted Arms a month or so ago.
FFXII shows I'm not below dragging out a PS2 for a good game but hopefully that is the last one not to be released on the PS3 or 360.
I have to be honest, I have moved a little further in the song selection tonight and still haven't felt it was grunge heavy at all. If you're referring to the songs that can be purchased, you may have a point because I haven't bothered to see them yet. But through the five stages I've played through, I haven't felt the set list was grunge heavy. Maybe I was just too jaded about having the option to play through a Pretenders or a Kiss songJice Virago wrote:I thought the song list was a little too 90s grunge heavy, but there were some nice suprises for us old farts.
as an aside, I thought the intro was a pisser to watch. It reminded me of the headbangers ball in the late '80's

Are you using the new Eldar models? They are tugging at my wallet, calling me back to paint again...Jice Virago wrote:Entirely possible, as our modelling table is set up in front of our big screen, but it would be Eldar, not orks.....
I still have a huge-ass SM army that I have yet to fully paint, and a little Tyranid swarm that is fully painted and looks fucking great. When you know you're going to be painting several armies, you have to plan different color schemes for each one so they al don't look like allies

Anyway, the new Eldar range of minis is inspired.

My eldar collection spans every edition of the models, so I have been adding at least one of every squad or character to round out my collection. The War Walkers, Wraith Lord, and Fire Dragons are by far and away the best of the new stuff.
