Intriguing website re: 9/11 chronology
I haven't had a chance to read through all of this, but this site appears to have a chronology of the events that led up to 9/11 with some rather interesting quotes and information that appears to be sourced. I'm just running through it now, so it's not clear to me if there's a bias one way or another as yet. It's still rather interesting and informative.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Doh! Sorry!
http://cnparm.home.texas.net/911/Backg/Backg1.htm
It really is a good site. The chronology starts from the 1940s.

Fun Quotes:
The US government prepares and supplies textbooks for young Afghan schoolchildren that contain a great deal of extreme Islamist ideology and violent imagery. The Americans believe that the textbooks will make young Afghans more reliably anti-communist. The primers remain in use through the Taliban era.
From Feb. 1992.A formal truce is arranged between the US-led coalition and the Iraqis. On Apr.06, a permanent cease-fire is agreed to. Despite the end of the war, US forces remain permanently stationed in Saudi Arabia for reasons that are never clearly explained, but probably in part to prop up the Saudi monarchy. Many Muslims are deeply affronted by the American military presence in Arabia. The war costs Saudi Arabia about $45 billion, more than half its annual GDP, and badly damages the nation’s finances. The personal wealth of the Saudi royal family is unaffected.
Nice guys here:Neoconservatives begin to advocate an ultra-aggressive American foreign policy. After the collapse of the Soviet Union renders their traditional anti-communism obsolete, some neocons rethink their outlook on international affairs. In Feb, neoconservative Defense officials Paul Wolfowitz and I. Lewis Libby finish the draft version of Defense Policy Guidance (DPG) begun by Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney, envisioning a drastically more assertive American foreign policy, with the US unilaterally using overwhelming military power to intimidate other nations, including allies, to secure access to Persian Gulf oil and other vital resources, and to thwart the development of any potential rival - by preemptive military action if necessary. The paper causes a storm of criticism when it’s leaked to the New York Times on Mar.08, and the final version that Cheney releases in Jan.1993 is toned-down, though still highly ambitious. Most foreign policy experts in both parties reject the Cheney-Wolfowitz plan, but the DPG is the first of several neoconservative proposals for reshaping international relations to promote strictly American interests, and an early step toward the belligerent foreign policy the US will adopt after 9/11. Years later, an article in Harper’s put it bluntly: “The Plan is for the United States to rule the world.” Wolfowitz and Libby will both occupy senior positions in George W. Bush’s Defense Department.
Idiots...Police in Manila discover a bomb factory run by Ramzi Yousef and his uncle Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. They also seize an abandoned laptop that contains plans to assassinate the pope, to simultaneously blow up a dozen American airliners over the Pacific (a plot known as ‘Project Bojinka’), and to crash a plane into CIA headquarters. Anti-terrorist investigators become aware of “a strong network, continuously hatching plots.” Ramzi Yousef and Khalid Shaikh Mohammed escape. See Feb.07, early 1996, and late winter 1999
I'll edit as I find more.Nov.13 > [•X] The first major bombing in Saudi Arabia kills 5 US troops in Riyadh. The bombers are apprehended and eventually confess that they were veterans of the Afghan war and were inspired by bin Laden. They are probably linked to al-Qaeda, but are beheaded by the Saudis before they can be interviewed by the FBI.

That's an interesting read.
Here's a quote for ya:
Here's a quote for ya:
Go massive!0240 PM > Rumsfeld begins urging the military to develop strike plans against Saddam Hussein as well as bin Laden, although there is no evidence linking Saddam with the 9/11 attacks. Rumsfeld writes: “Go massive. Sweep it all up. Things related and not.”
1989:
==Jan.20 > George H. W. Bush is inaugurated as President of the United States.
1990 May :The start of Islamist terrorist activity in America. Sheikh Omar Abdal Rhaman, a leading Egyptian extremist and an affiliate of al-Qaeda, arrives in Brooklyn. The blind sheikh was issued visas - at least one by a CIA officer - despite being on the State Department’s terrorist watch list. The US government later blamed the blunder on computer error. Rhaman will be involved in a number of terrorist schemes, culminating in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing
Nov.05 > [•X] In New York City, Islamist El Sayyid Nosair shoots and kills the violent anti-Arab Rabbi Meir Kahane. Nosair is evidently planning a number of other assassinations before he is apprehended. He is an associate of the Islamist Sheikh Abdul-Rhaman, who will later be involved in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Mar.01 1991 > [•XX] New York Islamist activist Mustafa Shalabi is stabbed to death in his home - his associate Sheikh Rhaman is widely suspected of being behind the unsolved murder. Shalabi’s Brooklyn Alkhifa Center is soon taken over by al-Qaeda members, several of who will be involved in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing
1992 Sep.01 > [•X] Islamist terrorism begins to spread to America and Europe. Ramzi Yousef arrives in the US intending to destroy the World Trade Center, which a boyhood friend had suggested as a suitable target. Without a proper visa, Yousef is arrested at the airport but is immediately released due to lack of detention space. He is soon receiving financial support from his uncle Khalid Shaikh Mohammed
Dec > [•X] Two hotels in Aden are bombed, killing a tourist and a hotel worker. The real targets were probably US soldiers who had just left for Somalia. Years later, the US government implicates bin Laden, in what appears to be his first act of anti-American terrorism
After only 36 days Bush 1 was out of the office, we were attacked. But Right Wingers blame Clinton for not being able to know what the Regan and Bush have known the past 12 years in only 36 days.....
1993:
==Jan.20 > [•] Bill Clinton is inaugurated as President of the United States.
Feb.26 > [•XX] The first major Islamist terrorist attack within the US: the original World Trade Center bombing is carried out by Ramzi Yousef and associates from the Alkhifa Center in Brooklyn. Six people are killed and over 1000 are injured. The $3000 terrorist operation does $500 million worth of damage, but the towers remain standing. In the investigation of the bombing, US officials first come across the name Osama bin Laden - but for several years they don’t fully understand the threat posed by Muslim extremists, and believe that bin Laden is no more than a financier of terrorism. In the WTC case, he is only named as an unindicted co-conspirator
It worked once Bush, why tell them to piss off and kiss your ass to start them on the road of making nukes? WTG
I knew Right Wingers were evil!1994 Oct.21 > [•] The US and North Korea reach an accord, ending a highly dangerous crisis brought on by North Korea’s nuclear program
Apr.19 > [•XX] The Oklahoma City bombing: American right-wing extremists blow up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, in the worst American terrorist attack until 2001. There are 168 fatalities, including 19 children in a day care center. Anti-terrorism becomes a major priority of the Clinton administration.
Eh? What happend here?
Dec 1995 [•] Congressional Republicans block anti-terrorism legislation proposed by the Clinton administration.
Jan.--- > [•X] A CIA station - code-named Alex - is organized to track bin Laden’s activities. In February, the State Department names him “the most significant financial sponsor of Islamic extremist activities in the world today.” Soon afterwards, Clinton effectively authorizes bin Laden’s assassination, but Richard Clarke later comments that the CIA was “pathetically unable to accomplish the mission
Mar.08-May.15 > [•X] The Sudanese government later claimed that during the spring of 1996 it attempted to turn bin Laden over to America, but US authorities declined to take him. This story has been emphatically denied by George Tenet, Richard Clarke, and other senior US officials, and there seems to be no evidence to support it
There were more parts to lead up to this. As in The CIA and FBI had recived tip offs that there were to be attacks by air planes and crashing them in to the CIA building. Go check them out.
Aug US authorities quietly and efficiently conduct a thorough anti-terrorist surveillance of air activity around the Atlanta Summer Olympics. Suspicious flights near the games are intercepted, all regional airports are put under surveillance, and any crop-dusting within hundreds of miles is monitored.
Sep.09 > [•X] The Clinton administration proposes anti-terrorism measures that would cost $1.1 billion, including $429 million for airline security suggested by a commission headed by Vice President Gore. Clinton has been urging fast action on anti-terrorism legislation since late July, but Congressional Republican leaders have balked. A National Research Council study published this year concludes that upgrading the nation’s aviation security system will lead to protests from passengers.
Feb.12 > [•X] A panel chaired by Al Gore reports that US airport security is woefully inadequate and makes over fifty recommendations for improvements - in particular, it urges greater information sharing on suspected terrorists between the CIA, the FBI, and the airlines. Little is done. [nyt.Dec.30.2001 / maha]
==Mar.10 > [•X] In a New Republic article entitled ‘Hot Air’, commentator Susan Ellingwood mocks the Clinton administration’s attempts to improve airport security as an absurd waste of money.
early.1998 > [•X] The CIA forms a team of 15 Afghan agents to track bin Laden’s whereabouts. He proves to be elusive, but the team is persistent and on at least two occasions it reportedly fires on convoys carrying bin Laden.
May.22 > [•X] Two major antiterrorism directives are released by the White House: PDD-62 on general counterterrorism policy and PDD-63 on cyber-counterterrorism. Clinton publicly announces the directives in a speech at the Naval Academy in June. Richard Clarke is named National Coordinator of Counterterrorism
Aug.14 > [•X] The CIA and the Pentagon present Clinton with strong evidence that bin Laden is responsible for the embassy bombings, is planning additional terrorist acts, and will be presiding at a top-level al-Qaeda conference in Afghanistan on Aug.20 (this last, erroneous piece of intelligence is probably provided by the Pakistani ISI). Clinton approves a counterstrike, though he’s aware he’ll be accused of trying to distract the public from the ongoing Lewinsky scandal. By now, the administration considers bin Laden “Enemy No. 1” and further intensifies the struggle against al-Qaeda. Eventually, Clinton will station submarines in the Indian Ocean prepared to launch missiles against bin Laden on short notice.
Oct.12 > [•XX] The destroyer USS Cole is severely damaged by al-Qaeda suicide bombers at Aden - 17 American sailors are killed. FBI anti-terrorism expert John O’Neill leads a massive but largely unsuccessful investigation in Yemen. Possible links to high-ranking Yemeni government officials are not followed up, and there is no effective US retaliation for the Cole attack
Dec.20 > [•X] US counterterrorism director Richard Clarke presents a strategy paper urging vigorous worldwide initiatives against al-Qaeda. Clinton officials decide to hand the proposals over to the Bush administration, which will be taking office in less than a monthCode: Select all
early Jan > [•X] During the presidential transition, anti-terrorism chief Richard Clarke briefs top-level Bush administration officials on his proposed strategy for a major international offensive against al-Qaeda, including extensive covert actions in Afghanistan and strong support for the anti-Taliban opposition. He amplifies these recommendations in a January 25 memo. Clinton’s National Security Adviser Sandy Berger personally warns Bush’s NSA Condoleeza Rice “You're going to spend more time during your four years on terrorism generally and al-Qaeda specifically than any other issue.” But the incoming Bush administration found the concern about al-Qaeda to be “rather odd,” as Clarke later wrote - preoccupied with other policy proposals, it makes little attempt to change or strengthen anti-terrorist efforts. One senior official long involved in anti-terrorism later says: “I have a real difficult time pointing to anything from January 20th to September 10th that can be said to be a Bush initiative, or something that wouldn't have happened anyway.”

This one is priceless:
Can I get a, "Fuck Israel!" ?Angrily reacting to a website that has parodied him, Texas Governor George W. Bush says during a press conference: “There ought to be limits to freedom.”
Israeli intelligence claims there are links between al Qaeda and Palestinian terrorists. Especially after 9/11, Israeli intelligence vigorously promotes the idea that al-Qaeda is closely allied with anti-Israeli terrorists. [nyt.Jan.14.2001]

I've read the entire thing and I'm halfway through part 1 of day of information and I have the following conclusions.
Paul Wolfowitz is a scary, evil, man. I consider any organization that would employ him in a position where he can affect policy decisions to be a danger to our way of life.
Condoleza Rice is a totally inaffectual and worthless yes-woman.
The Clinton administration from top to bottom for all of it's distractions was dealing with the Middle-East and terrorism in general in an infinitely more positive way than the Bush administration did.
The Bush administration has been a complete joke. Wrought with poor decisions and dubious motives, it's a wonder there haven't been more Americans killed both internationally and domestically.
Israel is not an ally worthy of our time, energy or funding.

September 12th -- seriously wtf?:0900 PM > Bush meets with the National Security Council, followed a half-hour later by a smaller meeting with what will become his war cabinet. According to Bob Woodward, the participants already generally understand that the attacks were carried out by al-Qaeda, and there is strong sentiment for going after the Taliban. Bush seems more confident and forceful than he appeared to be in his televised speeches earlier in the day. He unrealistically demands that the economy - including the Stock Market - become fully functional by the next day. He responds angrily when Rumsfeld points out that international law prohibits war for retribution, shouting “No. I don’t care what the international lawyers say, we are going to kick some ass.” When CIA Director Tenet comments that al-Qaeda’s operations are so widespread that the organization is a 60-country problem, Bush reportedly replies “Let's pick (the countries) off one at a time.” Bush also reportedly says “This is a great opportunity,” evidently already thinking of initiatives extending far beyond the hunt for al-Qaeda. [wap.Jan.27.2002 / clarke]
War with Iraq is discussed among senior administration officials for the first time after 9/11. During NSC meetings on Wednesday, Vice President Cheney repeatedly urges that the ‘war on terrorism’ be directed primarily against states rather than specifically against al-Qaeda. "To the extent we define our task broadly," Cheney says, "including those who support terrorism, then we get at states. And it's easier to find them than it is to find bin Laden." Rumsfeld advocates an immediate war with Iraq, at one point bizarrely suggesting that Iraq should be bombed because it had so many more suitable targets than Afghanistan. Powell counters that the American people expect action against al-Qaeda and that they would not now support an attack on Iraq. The disgusted Richard Clarke tells Powell “Having been attacked by al-Qaeda, for us now to go bombing Iraq in response would be like our invading Mexico after the Japanese attacked us at Pearl Harbor.” [wap.Jan.28.2002 / clarke]
==In the White House Situation Room Wednesday evening, Bush repeatedly tells the incredulous Richard Clarke to find links between the 9/11 attacks and Iraq. One of Clarke’s aides says of the president “Wolfowitz got to him.” On the day after 9/11, Bush already seems committed to pursuing a conflict with Iraq. See Sep.13 [clarke]
==Pentagon adviser Richard Perle, who will become a key promoter for war against Iraq, is already saying that “one or more governments” must be responsible for preparing the 9/11 attacks. Perle erroneously assumes that the hijackers couldn’t have learned to fly airliners “without the assistance of large governments.” [wap.Sep.12.2001]
==Former CIA Director James Woolsey, another war enthusiast, tells commentator James Fallows that Saddam Hussein must be overthrown even if he wasn’t involved in the 9/11 attacks, since he’ll probably be involved the next time. [atl.Jan.2004]

Wow, this site is crazy, if even 10% of the voting population read this, they'd understand... Especially all those people that think Bush is better for national security.

In this case, the fictional perpetrators are rogue US government officials hoping to provoke anti-terrorist hysteria followed by a massive military buildup. [myers.Jun.20.2002]
i have to check this out if this is true.
if you guys like this site, you will really like Richard Clarke's bok "Against All Enemies".
I got the paperback a week or two ago, and it is a book that has a pretty good pace and is not at all dry - and certainly very informative of this insider's point of view on the War on Terror.

I hate to jump on the conspiracy bandwagon on 911 but I downloaded a 2 hour movie that goes over the events of 911 and finds some very disturbing things.
I really wish I could share it. You do have to gloss over some of the researcher's attempts to come to his own conclusions but it's easy to see there are some huge questions regarding 911.
I'd be happy to upload it but it's a 396mb movie . It's well worth seeing. It's called, "An Analysis of the 911 Attack".

Well, if anyone happens to run into some space and bandwidth to host it for the 5-10 people that would download it from here let me know.
It's not a political piece at all. It strickly deals with the questions regarding 911 in scientific detail. (building collapses, pentagon, building 7, the anatomy of the planes hitting the towers, etc)

OK, thanks to Midnyte for finding me a place to host the movie.
A few things about the documentary so you know what to expect.
-the guy that made the documentary must have just learned how to use a new video application because text and pictures fly all over the screen for the first few minutes like he was trying to use every feature available and then it settles down.
-the narrator has a semi annoying voice and does tend to jump to his own conclusions throughout the presentation. Pay attention to the science and data he presents and ignore his personal opinions.
-The first part deals with the pentagon and the second deals with the WTCs and surrounding buildings. He goes on a rant about how things are presented in the media and coverups after that.
-it's a little less than 400mb for a 2 hour movie so you may want to keep it windowed as full screen is watchable but a tad grainy. Righ click and save the file to your hard drive. It's not a good idea to open a 400mb file directly before saving it.
- It's in Divx format. Most of you probably have the divx codec on your computers. Any self respecting pr0n watcher has divx. If the movie doesn't work, go here and download the free version of divx. You don't need to install the pro version, you don't need to provide a legit email address, and you don't need to install the divx player. Once you install the codec (7mb file), windows media player or any other video player you use should work fine.

He presents quite a bit of data. Give it about 8 minutes before he settles down. If nothing else, you'll learn about the difference between rockets and jet engines, fuel fireballs and explosives, the structure of buildings, and even a bit about the oklahoma bombing.
If someone successfully downloads and plays it, let me know.

I downloaded it and watched the entire thing.
I am not going to go into such an indepth detail here, but the only thing that interested me was the Pentagon thing.I found the video very interesting on the Pentagon only because I been hearing for a couple years now that it couldn't have been a plane etc.
As far as the towers are concerened I don't give a rats ass about any theories etc only because I was watching Cnn the day the towers got hit and seen planes going into them.So to me in my mind I am at ease as to what happened to them.
Has anyone seen Farenheit 911? Many people keep telling me not to watch it.So I haven't had the nerve to yet.
Thank You Winnow for sharing the video.
