Should I pick up this TV at $500?

Coworker has a great tv he's looking to get rid of. He bought it for $1000 and used it for two years. It seems like $500 is a good deal. I mean, how much does technology really change in two years?

Wouldn't be shocked to see similar tv's that are new at that price or lower within the next couple months. If you plan on just kicking his ass when you see problems with it, that could "beat" any warranty you would get on a new one!

I wouldn't pay $500 for a 2 year old LCD... even if it is a Sony.
You could probably find a similar new LED for a $100-200 more.

TVs get better and better each year while at the same time getting cheaper. Go with a new TV.
