Beta emails...

Post by Skogen »

The official word on the next wave of beta testers...
The next wave of beta emails will be sent out after the new patch has been successfully completed. At that time, we will begin the next phase of the beta test and add the next round of testers.

~Kat :)
The next patch is not far off..we were expecting over the weekend, but it didnt make it. The patch coming today is a definite possibility.

It would be nice to look in the inbox and see a beta email in there... but I won't be holding my breath. :(

These days you have to know someone... and well, I don't. :(

Good God I hope that with the next patch they fix whatever server issues they're having. It's annoying to crash/server down like 5 times a night at its current server population. Welcome to the World of Warcrash!

I hear you there...and moreover, I have crashed more in the past week than the rest of my beta time combined. One night I was doing Mo'Grosh Ogres in Loch Modan, and I crashed once every, oh, 5 minutes max, when going for Chok'Sul's head. Eating desktop has become a way of life in that game lately.

There's a current bug where using AE's (like Frost Nova) indoors will cause you to crash.

Truth. The game owns. I can't for the life of me find many in-game bugs (I could find more in EQ this far after release, sadly), but it does crash a LOT.

Scarlet Monastery is about the worst aside from the Keg Quest from Tauren Mill (forgot the name of it) for crashes. In just about every indoor place, mainly in dungeons, Frost Nova crashes people.

Not sure about everything but I know that most of that has been fixed and will be included in this next push. It always seems like whenever a push is coming, you crash more. :D

Can't wait for PvP!

Whats really making me nervous is I used my work email to register for beta, and I am not 100 percent sure the email itself won't get spammed blocked. Is there anyway to tell from their website if you have been sent the email yet or not? My nerves are almost shattered thinking that it is possible I have already been accepted and don't even know it yet...

People up here (Alaska) that are using the same IP are wondering the same thing. We aren't sure if it was blocked by the spam filter. :?

The following is an email response I got from the WoWSupport@blizzard.com email addy when asked if there was any way I could check my beta status, and more importantly, if I was already sent the email and didn't get it - this is more or less what I was expecting.

Hello,

I am sorry, but we are unable to provide you with the status of your World of Warcraft Beta acceptance. At this time, everyone that was chosen for the beta has already been sent an email. Please check your spam boxes to make sure our email was not marked as spam or erroneously moved to a junk mail archive. Unfortunately, if you are unable to locate your invitation, we are unable to resend invitational emails.

Some potential testers have contacted us with requests to change the email associated with their application. Unfortunately, due to the volume of submissions for the World of Warcraft Beta test, we are unable to make any modifications to any of the entries. We are aware that this may cause some people to be unable to receive their notifications and we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.

If you were not selected for this phase of the test and did not receive an email from us at all, don't worry; we'll be adding more testers at the start of each upcoming beta-test phase. Keep an eye on http://www.blizzard.com for news on when we'll be opening up the additional phases, because that will be your clue to check the email. For any additional beta-related concerns, please read the World of Warcraft Beta FAQ - ("http://www.blizzard.com/wow/faq/").

Regards,
Jeff J.
Online Support
Blizzard Entertainment

So it sounds like all the emails for this phase have already gone out, as of yesterday morning. Time to go defenestrate my own ass.

Well I finally got mine a couple of days ago, unfortunately (for my gaming interest, not real life interest) I also got my real life baby RPG. Now I have my own mini-shadow knight...But I have been able to play in between his 2 hour naps :) I'm on the beta server as Valryte.
