Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's the one I'm thinking of, this video was made at home entirely with DLed software by a bunch of amatures. This got huge recognition because companies pay out the ass for any sort of digital effects used in commercials / films, and this made them realize it isn't hard to do some amazing things with hardly any money at all. The guy that did this is now making a living off what used to be his hobby.
