Not sure it's considered a sport or not, but-
Does anyone here fly radio controlled airplanes? I just picked up my first today, and although I'm fairly underwhelmed at the results, it's probably my operating skills more than anything else at this point.
Any pointers for a beginner? Any cool stories?

My friend has an RC plane, and when I was asking him about what you would do to start off he mentioned that getting a remote control that can also interface with your computer is a good way to start. The reason being is that you can then practice flying with some of the RC Plane simulators that are out there and get a feel for how to land etc etc before you go live with your plane. That way you reduce the chance of smashing it up.
What kind of RC plane did you get? Also you should check out the B-52 post in the general forums, that's a sweet RC plane.

Thanks- I went out and bought one of the simulators. It's definately going to pay for itself, and pretty quickly too, if my simulated crash rate is any indication!
Here's a pic of mine:

Yeah, no kidding. It's on my To-Do list for one of these months, I just never seem to get around to it.
