Heat monitors?

I used to have a computer that had a small program that monitored the heat of the processor, but I don't remember if it was a general program or if it was specific to that motherboard/processor. Do they still make programs like that? I've looked around a bit but havent' seen anything so far.

Asus mobo's come with programs like that on their driver disks. You might check there.

CPUCool can also report/monitor system temp (assuming your MB is supported).

Ok, thanks, both of you.
It's showing a temp of 39c, and from what I recall that's ok, yes?

Should be fine. I'm 38 at the moment. It looks like the Alarm is set at 75c so I got a ways to go.

Running EQ for most of a day, and SETI for 12 hours straight (not at same time) the hottest my system has gotten is 47c.
Of course, you really want to test it doing a stress-job like SETI or a long EQ session (to get video card heat going) to make sure .. displaying a desktop isn't exactly a troubling task for a CPU/Video card.
