I use to use this one on my old comp, but they updated it and now it's worse than it was before.
I'm tempted to try yahoo toolbar but I heard bad things about it somewhere.
Anyone have a suggestion ?

Avant is more than a popup blocker. It's a whole different web browser. Ability to block popups is just one feature.

Once you go Avant, you never go back.

Only thing to remember about Avant is.. Exit it on occasion. I have 6-7 or so sites I have tabbed at all times. It doesn't appear to do well when it comes to memory management. I exited out and freed more than 300MB memory.

Regarding Avant.. was looking at their homepage trying to figure out what kind of resources it uses. Just trying to compare it to IE, is it faster?

MyIE2 is a pretty nice shell for IE as well. Has a lot of features including a BOss Key that lets you hide the entire browser in a split second without the minimize time! hehe Alt + ~ is your friend!!

google bar is pretty decent so far. As far as Yahoo...well, I installed the IM app and got a shitload of links and other harmless, yet annoying, garbage. FUCK THEM.

Avant also has an ad blocker. Mine was turned off so I only recently discovered it!

It seems the only big difference between any of these browsers (especially that Firefox one) and IE is Tabbed Browsing. The rest is equalized by a 10 second install of the google toolbar.
The Avant IE shell for Tabbed browsing does seem useful and well put together.
The MX700 mouse has two buttons on the side of it by your thumb which rock for going forward and backward while browsing so I don't need the extra mouse functionality although I suppose it's a nice feture if you haven't discovered the best mouse available yet.
Flash animation filter may be the key to why I change to Avante due to Kwons retarded huge flash sigs. I'd donate to Avante if they made an animated gif filter that you could set a max size with. Maybe the next version of google toolbar will have that option.
Full IE compatibility..I'd hope so seeing as it's a shell (so you MS haters aren't really showing the man who's boss!
Records cleaner: that's a nice feature. I hate it when the folks come to visit and the drop down URL shows some shady URLS.
Skins: who really cares? If you want skins, get windowblinds. DinksDX Blue is a great skin.

Taking tabbed browsing from my taskbar to within the browser app is a more efficient way of doing things. The grouping function shows promise as well.

when people at work are having bizarre problems with their computers one thing we look for is if they have the Google toolbar. Most of the time the probems are resolved when we remove the toolbar. Now, that is at work. At home I use it and have no problem with it. I also use Free Surfer to kill popups.

Don't listen to Bubba! I haven't heard of google toolbar causing any issues.
Follow this link and scan your computer to see what the real probles are on your computer:
http://www.pestscan.com/Scan.asp
That's the best free scanner I've found. It finds more crap than anything else including Search and Destroy, etc.
