Any of you VVers motorheads? Do you love putting money into your car?

Share!! I'm up and coming and quite poor but I'm working on it slowly...

What do you drive? What's done to it? Got pictures? This could be fun..

As for me it's a gold 99 sunfire GT with just a catback exhaust and some interior stuff so far... so poor :-(

Everytime I see huge rear spoilers on cars I start to laugh uncontrollably. Even stuck in shitty traffic jams,
seeing a huge spoiler on a civic brightens my day.

Ohhh yeah!!!!

No idea. But every sticker adds about 2 horses....

I agree. Huge spoilers are pointless.

I once lost a start to a guy driving a car that looked like the blue one, I was laughing so hard I almost passed out, and he started before I could catch a breath to see the light through my laugh filled teary eyes.

Of course then I started off in 3rd gear and smoked him.

That's awesome. :) I have a 1996 300zx (non-turbo) slicktop and I love it. I need to wash and wax it and then I'll take some pictures of it with my new camera. I deleted the old ones I had taken with my other crappy camera. :( Mine is the same color red as yours, it's beautiful!

Please don't fuck it up by adding a lot of mods to it. Those cars are incredibly sweet just being all stock. I'm a purist though, so I think cars with all original parts are much more impressive than rebuilt or customized crap.

I drive just a plain ol' 95' Camry LE, put a sub into it and a decent system...

But, the p's have been talking about bein a time for a new car and a stick, so I'm *hoping* to get a evo VIII or an S2000, an old Supra, or something similar.

Anyone else dislike suup'd (sp?) up civics that think their ricers ~

I don't have anything atm, but looking at a white 79 Trans Am(needs a paint job, new phoenix decal, and interior needs to be completely redone) with a 6.6 liter engine...don't know much else about it, but its only $2500 and runs, seems like it could be a good car to start with. If not that, also looking at an old 65 Mustang or maybe some 82-92 Camaro (yeah, not as cool as the other ones, but better gas mileage which REALLY matters right now, plus OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS cheaper, and easy to fix up).

But before I can get any of these, I need a job :( 15+ applications, not a single call.

I'm currently driving a Jetta VR6, haven't really been thinking of doing much with it besides a AEM Cold Air intake, haven't really found any exhaust sytems, may eventully get some rims.. But that is about it for my car.

Plus I hear german cars are bitches to add mods too, so main reason why i'm not looking into doing that really.

Well I dont plan of fucking it up really. I intend to bump it just over 400whp and keep it looking bone stock. (400 is my magic STOP number)
Unless you pop the hood this is what it will stay looking like.
Minus those rims of course. Those will be replaced with same size but more complimentary design.

I agree 100% Xou, its a damn nice car and I got lucky as fuck finding a 96TT with only 52k on it.

I'll upload the pics of the one I just sold. While I was stationed in Japan I had a 2+2 twin turbo.....Yup a 2+2TT, those only exist in Japan though.

I've got a 93 Mustang GT pushing about 500hp with a 302. Power adder is a Vortech S-Trim supercharger pumping in about 10 lbs of boost although I have pulleys for 16 lbs if I ever feel the need to blow the bottom end out of that engine. Other major engine mods include a GT40 intake, Trick Flow Twisted Wedge aluminum heads, and a motorsport F303 cam.

Haven't really raced the car in the quarter mile since the upgrades but it has run a best time of 7.21 @ 97 mph in the 8th. I'm guessing it could run 11.20 or 30 at over 120 mph in the quarter though. I doubt if I could even attempt it considering the car has no roll cage.

The car has never been tubbed....still has a full interior including power windows and ac :)

Maybe someday I'll buy a scanner and post a pic.

Just my ignorance here on supercharging. Turbocharging I'm very familiar with.
I dont understand what you mean about the 16lb pulley?

Can't you run some form of boost controller and just up the boost either manually or digitally (depending on your controller)?

When I say a 16 lb pulley, I mean you have to manually change pulley sizes if you want to adjust your boost intake. A 16 lb pulley is smaller in diameter than my 10 lb pulley, thus spinning the supercharger faster and generating more boost.

Thats cool actually, you dont have to wory about wastegate springs and closely monitoring your boost pressure to make sure something doenst go wrong and you all of a sudded are running 30psi and watching your rods do impression of bottle rockets.

More info about the Z I'm picking up this weekend since so many responses to it.
1996 300ZX Twin Turbo
52,000miles on it (INCREDIBLE!)
Bone stock (ready for improvement)
Only shitty part is I have to drive 10 hours to get it and it took me 7 months of searching to find this car in this kind of condition.
Plus I'm getting it for $3000 below blue book.

Of course I havent actually put eyes on it yet or driven it but I already have all the paperwork in hand along with the certified check to hand the guy providing it all pans out and there are no unpleasant surprises when I get there.

Sorry about all the other multiple posts I was getting all kinds of weird debug errors when I tried to post before and while I was trying to fix them so I just gave up.

What is the bluebook on that one anyway? After reading this thread I started searching the area for RX-7s and 300ZXs (both were childhood dream cars heh), actually found what looked like some fairly good offers not too far away... Must..resist.. buying... car...

$17,850 is the bluebook for the one I'm buying with the features and miles on it. I'm getting it for $14,500.

Nice car Psyloche.
Not riced?

I'm curious what the general definition of riced these days for stateside people?

For me rice = all show no go.
Tuned = all go some/no show.

My goal is to keep her looking bone stock (minus the exhaust and rims) but sitting around the 400whp area.
Lot of work to do, lot of money to spend and I'm looking forward to every minute and dime of it.

I changed the inside radio and speakers, thats it. So since everything is stock, I consider it unriced! (With the exception of a ricer driving it, me!). I'm like you though, if I had the money I probably would modify ze Quaalude but without the visuals. I like cars that are fast but I feel no need to show it unless its through actual driving. Besides, I've always loved the way my car looks stock anyhow :) Wait no I do want some nice rims :/

Thanks, Sen. The guy who owned it before me took really good care of it also. It was garage kept and driven maybe twice a week. I got pretty lucky finding one in that good of shape, as did you!

And Cart, I know... I know. We rent, and the landlord is in the process of finding a new lawn service company so the yard looks like shit. :) Fuck if I'm going to work on the yard when I don't own the house!

That car is so sweet Xou.. normally not a huge fan of red cars, but that one looks nice.

Reading this thread brought back all the love I have for the 300ZX and the RX7.. might just have to call up and drive out to take a look at the two I found in the area..

Good luck Kelshara.

It took me 7 months of searching and I have to drive 10 hours (which isnt THAT bad) to pick it up.

Finding these cars whether NA or TT in this kind of condition is a pain in the ass.
Of course its worth the wait so go for it!
