This is usually fun... so here goes.

If it ain't safe, don't put it in the thread. Mine is 99% worksafe, just being careful. It's patriotic!

Damn I thought you meant my actual desk top. It is a complete mess.
I just have a SWG screen shot of Imperial Walkers and that is covered with shortcuts to a bazillion things that I use here at work. All of which are sorted out by need of use, like all my adobe stuff is grouped together and all my tariff stuff...etc.

-----------
' o o o o '
' o '
' o '
' '
'-----------'

Reversed "L" shape thing that's about it. when i get home ill post my desktop. I try to keep it simple.

Warning, it's about a 1.7M GIF ...

http://grebslog.rigamer.com/everquest/bg02_public.GIF

It is a sanitized version of my wallpaper: altered the logo art and nulled out the phone numbers that I keep in the upper right corner.

If you save that as a jpg instead of a gif it will cut the file size in half. (at least)

Resolution, the #1 priority

I agree. Though I always save backgrounds as gifs (I find that it alters my work less, and that since it is a wallpaper, when used in that function, it doesnt matter that the file size is bigger), I should have bucked my normal routine and saved it as a jpg.

/smack Ogbar

Of course, I am home now, and cant do anything about it at the moment. If I remember tomorrow, I will save it as a jpg.

At home it is just icons and folders (too lazy, dump everything there.) At work it is a 1600X1200 MAYA graphic with their logo. I need to remember to SS that. Also, it is filled with icons, files and folders...

Maya is a 3D rendering/animation tool from alias|wavefront. It is used in many many CGI based movies, etc...

My background is based on the graphics I made for http://www.ixtlanguild.org. Sooo, here it is.

Also, if anyone knows any good shells for icons, let me know. I am using the default for XP.

I use StyleXP for changing the taskbar. I'm not sure it's a shell replacement though. I messed with LiteStep at one point but it crashed a lot for me. StyleXP is a pretty nice program, but you have to register it ($20), I couldn't find a crack anyway. It's worth the $20 though. ;)

heh there are cracks for style xp, sadly they don't work. TGTsoft makes an exe that just changes some registry files and some other crap that lets you change visual styles/themes in xp by just putting them in the normal themes directory and changing them in the desktop properties. It won't work if you have SP1 or higher though.

by Xouqoa
Oh, I'm glad I haven't installed SP1 then. :( That makes me sad.

--Oogah Boo
Hehe, yeah that was the one thing I always liked about macs is how the hard drives were right there for easy access on the desktop. :)

The system info program is called CoolMon... it can display a lot more info that that too, if you want it to. Pretty neat.
